It looks like Nicholas Sparks is ready to return to Wilmywood. Although The Best of Me ended up shooting in Louisiana, my sources are telling me the latest Sparks novel will be adapted (like all his other books) and shot right here in North Carolina. It is The Longest Ride, which is about the lives of a young couple that intertwine with an old man looking back on the relationship he had with a lost love.
I am told that a few department heads have all ready been contacted and some already hired. It looks like we will be sharing the love with Winston-Salem on this one. Offices could open as soon as this month! Producing is Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey. Craig Bolotin is adapting. Director is yet to be named. The movie will be released April 3, 2015.
And there’s more where that came from! We have at least three other productions scouting here at the moment for feature films. I will keep you posted! You’re not gonna believe who was here! More to come!
ABOUT THE LONGEST RIDE:
Ira Levinson is in trouble. Ninety-one years old and stranded and injured after a car crash, he struggles to retain consciousness until a blurry image
materializes beside him: his beloved wife Ruth, who passed away nine years ago. Urging him to hang on, she forces him to remain alert by
recounting the stories of their lifetime together – how they met, the precious paintings they collected together, the dark days of WWII and its effect on
them and their families. Ira knows that Ruth can’t possibly be in the car with him, but he clings to her words and his memories, reliving the sorrows
and everyday joys that defined their marriage.
