Wow what a weekend.
On Saturday, it was media day for Max Steel and let me tell you it look less than a week for the producers and actors to absolutely fall in love with our Wilmington Film crew. Proving that, they all showed up to the Film Rally yesterday. THANK YOU! I will have more about Max Steel coming shortly! This weekend just about killed me ! Ha! Saturday evening Lyndie Greenwood and Orlando Jones of Sleepy Hollow along with many other celebrities including David Andrews, Jane McNeill, Sydney Penny, and Peter Jurasik attended the “Send a Cop to College event.” It was successful and a huge thank you to Warren Kennedy and his gang who put on quite a dinner at CFCC Union Station.
And of course, the fabulous and amazing NC Film Rally. Wow! You are incredible! Thank you so much for attending. Although some media is claiming “hundreds” showed up, we surpassed 1,000 in attendance. SEE PICS AND GET DEETS NOW.
Day one for Sleepy Hollow and they are ready to kick off the action today on the sound stages! Woo Hoo! And with that being said, they of course, are casting like mad. Extras Casting Director Ashli Bogart has a specific casting call. If you know someone who fits this description, help her out!
Fox’s Hit series Sleepy Hollow is in search of a Little Person to work a paid extras position in an episode on the second season.
The scene is set to be filmed in Wilmington, NC on May 15th, but that is always subject to change. The extra should be prepared to work a night shoot that could last 12-14 hours. This position will require special effects makeup.
We are looking for a Male Little Person between ages 18 and 45. If available and interested please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
Included in the e-mail should be a recent photo, wardrobe sizes, height, location and contact information.
Under the Dome heads to the Brooklyn Arts Center today on N. 4th.
The Sin Seer is back at Manna today. Expect to hear some fun prop gun bangs today. Woo Hoo, good times!
How & Why is shooting on the lot today.
Max Steel is off today as they shoot Tuesday-Saturday.
The 14th annual CFIFF has come and gone and what an impact it has made in the local film community! The festival ran May 1-4, 2014 here in Wilmington and the awards ceremony was held on Sunday in the Beam Room of Front Street Brewery. At said ceremony there were tons of filmmakers and indiefilm lovers from all over. Taking home one award was actor/producer/Tim Guinee. Tim’s film, ‘One Armed Man’ won Best Short. You know Wilmywood loves them some Tim Guinee. He was here before the festival to shoot for the FX pilot, How and Why but had to leave for the festival itself.
Jacksonville native, Meredith Edward won the Best Feature award for her film, ‘Imagine I’m Beautiful.’ A new award was handed out this year as well: The “Filmington” award. The award honors those who have an impact in the local film community. The winners (yes, there were two) were Peggy Farrell and Jeff Goodwin. Peggy is an Emmy award winning costume designer and Jeff specializes in FX and make-up. Congratulations to everyone who participated and were nominated!
