Morning Wilmywood peeps! It’s was CBS’s big press day yesterday and here’s what we learned about for the upcoming season two of Under the Dome.
A more Gentle Big Jim?
Big Jim will have a “come to God or come to dome moment where he believes maybe his purpose in life should be that he shouldn’t be so nasty,” Norris says. “A different kind of Big Jim is required to survive under the dome.” Neal Baer adds, “It’s the season of transformation. This is the year where we will find out what they’re truly made of.” Just like the cocoon?
People get out? People get in?
“Maybe someone might possibly get out and maybe some might possibly get in,” Neal says. Max Ehrich plays Hunter who comes into the dome in episode 3. “but only digitally,” says Neal. “There’s a break in the dome that comes through where Internet messages can get through. In episode 3, Norrie and Joe start to get messages from this young man and we will actually meet him in Episode 8.” That is the episode they are working on now!
The Dome has a magnetic personality.
The Dome becomes magnetic, sending all the town’s metal appliances, vehicles, to the walls of the Dome. Won’t do well for anything living. Someone’s bound to receive death by toaster.
An ER reunion?
Yep, don’t forget that Neal Baer was EP and writer of that 15 season show! Sherry Stringfield (Big Jim’s late wife, Pauline) who was also on the medical drama is back for episode 10. ER alum Eriq La Salle will direct that upcoming episode. She was filming here earlier in the season. We will be glad to have her back!
Where’s everyone shooting today?
- Under the Dome – Sunnyvale Dr.
- Sleepy Hollow – Cotton Exchange – an overnight shoot
- Max Steel – N. 5th St.
Now, we have done all we can do, letting Gov. Pat McCrory know that we need his help. It’s time to move on to phase two. Kinda going back to where we started. But now more than ever it is very important we reach out to our own legislators and tell them that we support our film incentives and want them to stay! Don’t know who represents you? No problem! (See Below) It is crucial that you only reach out to those in your district! Hate to say it this way, but honestly, if you are not a voter in another legislator’s district they could not care less about what you have to say. Make sure in your calls or email to your own representatives you stay positive and let them know how film impacts your life.

The most important people that need to attend are the small businesses. These are the folks we need to put on a bus and send up to Raleigh. So whatever businesses you are friends with please reach out to them and pass this message along. Its so imperative that they come. More important than the crew more important than the background extras because when they see businesses it will really hit home.
REMINDER: You have today and tomorrow to go enjoy the locally shot A Short History of Decay at Thalian Hall.
