Dear Friends and Colleagues,
After more than seven years of hard work, struggles, mistakes and awesome success, it is time for me to pass the torch. While I leave with mixed feelings, I am proud of where we have elevated North Carolina.
The success we built over the past 7+ years is not mine alone. It is because of all who fought to the very end and worked every day to make North Carolina’s film industry great. Without our highly experienced crew, devoted vendors, and strong advocates around the state, we would have never reached the heights we enjoyed over the past several years. Be Proud, we brought North Carolina back to prominence.
As I depart, I would ask you to lend your support to Guy Gaster who will be taking over as interim director of the NC Film Office that will be housed in the newly created North Carolina Economic Development Partnership. Guy has been with the NCFO over the past 4 years and is a great asset. Please take time to get to know him.
I must also thank Cheryl Mauro at the NCFO for her tireless and often under-appreciated work and service to the State of North Carolina. Please reach out and thank both her and Guy.
I have enjoyed the opportunity to get to know many of you well. Your dedication, loyalty, and focus are sources of inspiration to me. I don’t yet know what the future holds, but I hope many of our paths will cross again and I get the opportunity to work alongside you.
