The folks from The Choice are kicking off their weekend with a little get together tonight for the cast and crew. No, I’m not telling you where, you little stalkers! LOL – Production begins Monday!
The feature film will be released on VOD, EST, DVD and other TV platforms today, almost exactly one year later after it’s original release date. The movie stars Rufus Sewell, Alycia Debnam Carey, Adelaide Kane, Leah Pipes, Thomas McDonell and “Dexter” fav Jennifer Carpenter.
ICYMI: After months of consideration and some really hard work from a few folks, Under the Dome will be returning to Wilmywood after all.
I got up with Grace Victoria Cox, who plays Melanie on the show, and she was thrilled! “I’m really excited to go back to Wilmington! I love the South. I miss it so much. Wilmington feels like another home to me :-)”
“It is our pleasure to return to North Carolina for our third season of Under the Dome,” said Kevin Berg, Executive Vice President of Production for CBS Television Studios. “The film community in the state, and particularly in the greater Wilmington area, is simply outstanding.” READ MORE AT WFMY
You damn right Kevin Berg! Again, like I said last night, if politicians think that this will calm us down, they are dead wrong! This is only one crew. We can go 5 crews deep in Wilmington, plus we have crew in Charlotte, Asheville and Winston-Salem that still need a job!
We have a long way to go until we get Tier 1 film incentives back, so make sure you get out and VOTE! We need the right folks in place during the 2015 Long Session so we can indeed have that status once again!
TODAY IS THE FINAL DAY TO REGISTER TO VOTE! DEADLINE IS 5PM!
ABSENTEE VOTING BY MAIL: Absentee voting runs through October 28, 2014
EARLY VOTING (ONE STOP) PERIOD: October 23, 2014 – November 1, 2014
LIST OF WHO VOTED FOR AND AGAINST FILM: NCGA_FilmmakersVotingGuide_2014
Yesterday, film supporters as well as advocates for conservation, education and women’s rights gathered for two protests. The first protest was for Governor Pat McCrory, as he was a keynote speaker during the Energy Summit. I was told they had a bigger attendance for the breakfast than they did for our Governor. When asked how the governor received the “Welcome Wagon” aka 100 protesters, I was told, “he was rattled.”
The second protest was right outside WECT for the Hagan/Tillis debate. 7 people stood out there in support of Tillis while about 60 folks were there for Hagan. About two days ago, one of my political insiders told me Tillis’ camp is hurting for support in Southeastern North Carolina, especially New Hanover County. Mission accomplished!
HUGE thanks to Christine Poppe White for most of these awesome shots! You rock lady! We will also have some follow up video from WGSR (Greensboro) next week. Yes, they traveled all the way to Wilmywood to support us! Thank you Charles and Jonathan!
