PLEAD!  I will post it on FB, Twitter, Tumblr and anywhere else and I can!  I think It will help us in our fight trying to save our industry and of course increase tourism in our town, which leads to more $$ in our small businesses’ pockets!  It should come out tomorrow.

UnderTheDome_Alex_Koch03102014Yesterday, Under the Dome was shooting downtown and a 2nd unit went to Southport.  I have to say Alexander Koch looked fabulous in uniform yesterday.  A little more about the downtown Stage8location.  My sources tell me that the location they are using is a vacant store front waiting to be rented.  So again, NC Film is putting money into the local economy.  Today they are back at EUE/Screen Gems.  Stage 8 is where the magic will happen with Mike Vogel, Colin Ford and Mackenzie Lintz just to name a few,  rocking their acting skills today. Looks like they will be on the lot for the next couple of days.

Meanwhile, state legislators have film incentives on the list to talk about today as they explore ways to make up for $600,000,000 of lost revenue.

State Rep. for Columbus, Robeson, and parts of Bladen Counties, Ken Waddell,  is on the Revenue Law Study Committee and when it comes to film incentives he said he would like to see state lawmakers increase them, since the film industry affects almost every county in our region. Amen brother!  Let’s hope all ears are open today!
“A part of Revolution was filmed in Chadbourn. There’s been some other filming going on in Whiteville and in other places. Filming is really important. It provides a lot of jobs to a lot of people. That helps small businesses pass the bucks around,” said Waddell.  READ THE STORY FROM WECT

Yesterday, Eastbound and Down release a tease for the season finale.  What?  Finale, you say?  I know, time is flying!  But there are a few left until we reach that point.  No doubt we all want to see the tease anyway!

CBS’ New Summer Series “UNDER THE DOME”

Executive Producer Stephen King Also Receives a Key to the City

From Wilmington Mayor Bill Saffo

Monday, Jun. 24, 2013 — In a presentation to cast and executive producers on Thursday, June 20 in Wilmington, NC, Mayor Bill Saffo proclaimed Monday, June 24th “Dome Day” in the city in honor of CBS’s new summer series. UNDER THE DOME, which premieres tonight at 10PM ET/PT on CBS, films in Wilmington.

Mayor Bill Saffo also presented a key to the city to author and executive producer, Stephen King, who wrote the best-selling novel Under The Dome, on which the series is based.

The premiere screening event took place in Thalian Hall in downtown Wilmington, where nearly 600 local residents, cast, producers, officials from the City of Wilmington, New Hanover County, the Towns of Burgaw and Southport, and press were treated to an advanced viewing of the first episode, followed by a Q&A panel with cast and producers, moderated by OMG! Insider co-host, Kevin Frazier.

Under The Dome tells the story of a small town that is suddenly and inexplicably sealed off from the rest of the world by a massive transparent dome. The series stars Mike Vogel, Rachelle Lefevre, Dean Norris, Natalie Martinez, Britt Robertson, Alexander Koch, Colin Ford, Nicholas Strong, Jolene Purdy and Aisha Hinds.  Steven Spielberg, Stephen King, Brian K. Vaughan, Neal Baer, Stacey Snider, Justin Falvey, Darryl Frank, and Jack Bender serve as the series’ executive producers.

WHAT’S UP IN WILMYWOOD – 06/20/2013 Sleepy Hollow, Under the Dome, Eastbound and Down, Tammy

Tonight is the big night!  The HUGE Under the Dome Premiere in Wilmywood baby!  Thalian Hall will be starlit!  The ENTIRE cast is getting a pass to get out of filming to walk the red carpet and attend the event!!  That includes producers and writers too!  Jack Bender, Neal Baer, Brian K Vaughan and of course Stephen King!

ALL UNDER THE DOME TICKET WINNERS: CBS is insistent you must be in your seats by 6pm Thursday – OR YOU WILL LOSE YOUR SEAT! Don’t be late!

With 4 days until the television premiere, the press is going nuts grabbing interviews left and right from the cast.  The Huffington Post continues it’s trend, this time they got a hold of Miss Rachelle LeFevre.  Here’s an excerpt:

What can you preview about her relationship with Barbie (Mike Vogel), since it seems like their paths cross fairly early on?
Well, I think they gravitate towards each other initially because neither of them is from there. Both of them are outsiders — him more than her — but certainly, that’s something they have in common immediately. Energetically, it kind of differentiates them. Everyone else, they’ve all lived together, grown up together. They’re going to stay there. Neither Barbie nor I feel that way about this place. So we’re unique in that nobody wants to be trapped, but they’re at least trapped at home and we’re not. And so that gives us something immediately in common … There is a strong chemistry there and a strong curiosity about one another, you know, “Who are you and why are you here?”

Rachelle isn’t the only one getting some love.  Dean Norris was awesome as usual on Jimmy Kimmel Tuesday night.  Did you see it?  Got the links for you!  Dean Norris on Jimmy Kimmel Live

MsPenny_tweetYesterday I told you about the flames and explosions that were taking place on the set of Tammy.  Well, Miss Penny Lane tweeted a photo of what went down.  Today Melissa McCarthy, Susan Sarandon, Kathy Bates, Mark Duplass and Sandra Oh head to LA baby!  Leland that is.  They are off the the Leland House off Lincoln Rd.

Eastbound and Down will be at two locations today.  Just off N. Kerr Ave and at Market/Cardinal at Stevenson Direct.  I caught up with the incredibly talented actor, Cullen Moss, after he did a stint this week on EBD, and did multiple scenes with Danny McBride.

Still from "The Heroes of Arvine Place"

Still from “The Heroes of Arvine Place”

He’s going to be in the first episode of season 4, playing the general manager of a business, who has an antagonistic relationship with Kenny Powers.  “This will be my only episode, as far as I know, Cullen said.  “I had so much damn fun! We did the scenes as scripted, and then were given chances to use alternate lines and go off on lengthy improvised tangents. That kind of spontaneously creative atmosphere that they’re able to provide is invaluable. In addition to the actors being given that freedom, the writers and the director (Jody Hill) are there, fine-tuning and tweaking the dialogue every moment. It was a completely creative, vitalizing, and affirming experience. I’m hoping they’ll find a way to get me back in the mix later in the season.”

Pre-Production is going swimmingly for Sleepy Hollow and they are still accepting resumes for crew positions.  There are just a handful of positions available, i.e. Set PA, Art PA, and possible assistant to the director.  I am sure there are a few more, so go for it!  BUT be prepared, I would highly recommend to apply ONLY if you are a night owl.  I’ve heard there will be a lot of overnights shoots of this series.   Get your resumes in: sleepyhollowseason1@gmail.com.  As far as extras casting goes, there is speculation, but there is no official word on who has signed on the dotted line for that position.  I will be able to reveal that to you in the next 2 weeks.  Production begins in late July!  Bring it!

Check out the latest promo for Sleepy Hollow that came out this week!

That just about does it for me; I will have more Wilmywood updates for you tomorrow morning and every weekday morning at 7:30am & 8:30am LIVE on Sunny 104.5.  Got Scoop?  Email me: sheila@1045sunnyfm.com.  Or message me on Wilmywood’s FB .  Or just post your comments below!  Until then, that’s a wrap!
