Our AMAZING volunteers were signing folks up, so we have a count.  A HUGE thank you for all those who took the time to help yesterday! Although we did indeed ROAR all the way to Raleigh, it’s not over yet!

UnderTheDome_Alex_Koch03102014Yesterday, Under the Dome was shooting downtown and a 2nd unit went to Southport.  I have to say Alexander Koch looked fabulous in uniform yesterday.  A little more about the downtown Stage8location.  My sources tell me that the location they are using is a vacant store front waiting to be rented.  So again, NC Film is putting money into the local economy.  Today they are back at EUE/Screen Gems.  Stage 8 is where the magic will happen with Mike Vogel, Colin Ford and Mackenzie Lintz just to name a few,  rocking their acting skills today. Looks like they will be on the lot for the next couple of days.

THE WILMYWOOD DAILY – 10/11/2013 Sleepy Hollow, Under the Dome and More

The trailer for the Wilmywood shot A Short History of Decay is up. The story is based on the director Michael Maren’s mother who had a major battle with Alzheimer’s. The movie which stars Linda Lavin premiere’s this weekend at the Hamptons International Film Festival.

Sleepy-Hollow-TitleCongrats to Sleepy Hollow as it premiered in the UK this week, giving Universal TV its best ratings since 2005! The weather has really put a damper in a consistent shoot schedule for the Sleepyheads. They are shooting on the back lot and then they head to Adam’s Antiques on Castle St. where our two hero’s walk into the store and investigate a break in. Yeah, I said head 🙂 The Brunswick county shoot has been pushed until next week.

As if they weren’t busy enough, they also HEAD to the New York Comic Con. Their panel is is Sunday afternoon. An autograph session will follow the Q&A.

REMINDER: Also this Sunday is The Walking Dead Viewing Party and Costume Contest at Theatre Now

The confusion has ended in regards to Something’s in the Dark, a horror film that is is shooting here in Wilmywood Tuesday and are filming in Raleigh tonight. I have no idea who they are and I cannot give you any details, except they exist?? I think. Extras Casting:  https://www.facebook.com/atlanticcastingcompany

alexcolinAlexander Koch joined Colin Ford at People Magazine’s Ones To Watch Party held at Hinoki & The Bird Wednesday night in Los Angeles. Alex recently spoke with Elle Magazine about Season 2 of Under the Dome and what we should expect.

“It’s going to be compelling and very different. We’re going to see the world as it’s changed, what this new empire that Jim’s created has become.” ~Alexander Koch

Under the Dome will reopen offices in January and begin principal photog in February.

WHAT’S UP IN WILMYWOOD 07/15/2013 The Weekend Afterglow

A great time was had over the weekend. Let’s start with the Pipeline to a Cure, the benefit to support Cystic Fibrosis.  We decided to auction off a date with Under the Dome’s John Elvis who came out to support.  We ended up raising $800.  Here’s some great photos from the night:

Toni Silvagni, our own surf hero here in Carolina Beach was honored on Saturday night, which means he didn’t get to go to the premiere party for The Perfect Summer that was shot here just a few months ago by Swirl Films.  But thank goodness they aired it multiple times over the weekend on the Up Network (TWC 283), so everyone got the chance to see it.  Have to give major kudos to Swirl for getting in some of the best establishing shots on our area.  Makes me wanna move there…oh wait…

1064036_10152992247495117_575935430_oSo, let’s flip back to Under the Dome real quick.  Episode 4 is tonight on CBS at 10pm.   As if living under the dome wasn’t already cruel enough, tonight Chester’s Mill is being hit with a meningitis outbreak, and to make matters worse the medical supplies are running low.

Don’t forget Live tweeting with the cast and producers at #UnderTheDome.   Or hang at the viewing party at Hell’s Kitchen downtown at 10pm.   The gang is shooting back in Currie, NC today.  They UTD4only have two more weeks of production before the cast heads to where ever they will go.  Still waiting for official word for a season two.  If that does indeed happen, we won’t have to miss the gang for too long.  The cast had another rambling weekend. Colin and Mackenzie joined Nick, Aisha, Rachelle, Dean, Jolene, John, Alex for dinner than all those over the age of 21 enjoyed the rest of the night downtown.

Finishing with some quickies, Michael Phelps was back in Wrightsville Beach over the weekend at The Yacht Club. Tomorrow, Eastbound and Down is shooting Union Missionary Baptist Church,  and Maides Park.

That just about does it for me; I will have more Wilmywood updates for you tomorrow morning and every weekday morning at 7:30am & 8:30am LIVE on Sunny 104.5.  Got Scoop?  Email me: sheila@1045sunnyfm.com.  Or message me on Wilmywood’s FB .  Or just post your comments below!  Until then, that’s a wrap!

Wanna know where some of the scenes were shot in Under the Dome? I got an email from Owen in Connecticut:

I watched the Under the Dome premiere, which I thoroughly enjoyed, and I have a strange question I’m hoping you can answer.  In the episode, Barbie (Mike Vogel), in an effort to avoid cows in the middle of the street, crashes through a fence and onto a farm where Angie (Britt Robertson) and Joe (Colin Ford) live. Shortly after Barbie crashes his car, the titular dome comes crashing down on Chester’s Mill … splitting an unlucky cow in the process! I know the majority of the pilot episode was filmed in Southport, Burgaw and Wilmington, but I’m guessing this farm is not in any of those three places. I’m not a local, however (I live in Connecticut), so I was wondering if you might happen to know where this series-setting scene was filmed. Any help would be terrific.

Thanks for writing Owen, and here’s your answer along with some other locations.
