WHAT’S UP IN WILMYWOOD – 05/29/2013

Morning Peeps!  Well, it wasn’t just the sport stars that came to Wilmywood to enjoy the 3 day weekend.  WECT reported The Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrey was enjoying the Port City as well.

Yesterday, I made a BIG correction on the blog.  There was a bit on confusion about whether Fox TV’s Sleepy Hollow was coming here or going to Charleston, SC.  Well, it’s looks like it is finishing the season in Wilmywood.

sheiladanSince yesterday was Dan Aykroyd‘s last day on the set of Tammy, I was hell bent on meeting him (again after more than 20 years).  So, I caught up with him on set yesterday, and let me tell you that is one sweet, sincere man.  And he loves Wilmington.  The Tammy crew is trekking back to Burgaw today.  Big park scene, lots of kids running around.  You will be seeing Melissa McCarthy and Susan Sarandon on set.

Under the Dome is on the lot for the first part of the day, then they return for their N. 15th St. location.  And speaking of UTD, if you are already a fan, you are so gonna love what I have coming up for you! Well, what Sunny 104.5 has coming up for you!  So, don’t miss a single blog!

Also, an FYI for Makeup Artists in town. I don’t know what brand you use, but wanted to pass on that Halloween and More carries these brands in case you need something locally:  (for special effects, everyday makeup, face & body paint, theatrical  etc…)  Ben Nye, Paradise “Mehron”, Brand X “Colored Liquid Latex”, Exotic Eyes Body Art, Xotic Eyes Body Art and Makeup, Snazaroo Face Paint and Don Post FX.

That just about does it for me; I will have more Wilmywood updates for you tomorrow morning and every weekday morning at 8:30am LIVE on Sunny 104.5.  Got Scoop?  Email me: sheila@1045sunnyfm.com.  Or message me on Wilmywood’s FB .  Until then, that’s a wrap!

I took a detour yesterday after attending the Home Again reveal (see previous blog post) and got to visit the set of Tammy.  I can tell you its got a nice energy.  We have some great local crew working on this one.  Today, they are back on Nun St.  What megastar is  in town and ready to shoot this morning?  Susan Sarandon!!  Yep, she’s here and she joins Melissa McCarthy and Allison Janney on set today!

tonysilvagniA big congrats to everybody’s favorite, local, world champion surfer Tony Silvagni.  He is officially Eric Roberts‘ surf double in the movie The Perfect Summer.  They began at sunrise this morning.   (FYI: Tony’s got an AMAZING surf school). Wilmington’s own, Swirl Films is producing this one.

Here’s some pics from this morning shoot!

Now let’s go Under the Dome!  They will be filming up in Burgaw today.  We have received a special treat from the folks at CBS.  Check out this Sneak Peek that was released this week.

Under The Dome premiers Monday, June 24 at 10/9c.

You have today and tomorrow only to see Arthur Newman in theaters, so make your plans to head to Carmike Cinemas for this limited release!  (check yesterday’s blog post for showtimes).

Port City Pop Con is THIS weekend at the Wilmington Convention center.  Get your tickets now!  Meet cast members of The Walking Dead, Ghostbuster Ernie Hudson, Dee Wallace, Margot Kidder, Noah Hathaway (Atreyu in the Neverending Story), Hank and Jed Movie Pictures (creators/cast members of Battlefield Friends and Doraleous & Associates) and so many more!

That just about does it for me; I will have more Wilmywood updates for you tomorrow morning and every morning (Monday-Friday) at 8:30am on Sunny 104.5.  Got Scoop?  email me: sheila@1045sunnyfm.com.  Until then, that’s a wrap!

WHAT’S UP IN WILMYWOOD – 04/23/2013 Another Mega-Star headed to ILM?

It’s a brief segment today.  Under the Dome will be back in Burgaw.  On a side note, I wonder if Dean Norris who is in UTD will reunite with one of his fellow cast members from Little Miss Sunshine, Toni Collette.  She will be here filming Tammy.  I also wonder if he even knows she will be in town?  I sent him a tweet so we’ll see if there will be a reunion.

Now, speaking of this big budget flick, we could see another mega star in the Port City, but he won’t be showing off his acting skills.  Will Farrell has signed on as producer of the comedy.  A cameo is possible, but he is focusing more on his producer role and he takes that seriously.

That just about does it for me; I will have more Wilmywood updates for you tomorrow morning and every morning (Monday-Friday) at 8:30am.  Got scoop?  email me: sheila@1045sunnyfm.com.  Until then, that’s a wrap!
