WHAT’S UP IN WILMYWOOD – 08/08/2013 – EBD, UTD Piracy, Sleepy Hollow and more

sleepyThings are heating up on Sleepy Hollow today.  After a Police officer pulls a car over, a witch sets the car on fire and it explodes!  Okay, this show is getting fun!  They will be shooting this scene right beside Screen Gems.   Don’t forget to vote today for Wilmington to have an early screening of Sleepy Hollow! We need 140 to get into 2nd place.  I know we have more people in this town that love the film industry in this town! So, come on!  It takes less than 60 seconds to vote! The contest ends August 19th.

If you hear shots being fired in the downtown area, chances are you won’t have to worry.  It’s just Eastbound and Down downtown filming.  They will be on S. Front St, Betten Court Alley, 2nd St.  I would still duck and cover cuz lately, people are cray!

Christmas in Conway goes back for some more Ferris wheel fun on Forest Hills Drive.

River Guard is back at the courthouse on Princess St for Day 3 of the courtroom scenes. I think my favorite actor on set beside Eric Ladin, has got to be Peter Jason.  It’s really hot in the courtroom (gotta keep the AC off for sound)  Yesterday, when he took his judge’s robe off during a quick break, he was sporting a white shirt and tie with black shorts and pink shoes.  Hilarious!  He is just so fun and goofy!  Everyone LOVES him!  Also, pictured is local boy, Ben Yemba, best Bailiff ever! Ha!

under-the-dome-cbsPiracy rates are up for Under the Dome about 4% since the TWC/CBS dispute and black out in some major cities.  Wow!  That’s some dedicated fans!  “We will watch no matter the cost!”  Okay, I jest, it’s not a good thing, but is does seem like people are desperate.  Why can’t they just watch it on Hulu or CBS.com?  Anywho read the whole Variety article now!

AdrenalineI am glad WECT tweeted this because it reminded me to remind you that the folks making the movie Adrenaline have a Kickstarter campaign that has only 7 days left to raise all of their $45,000.  The film stars  John Schneider(Dukes of Hazard, Smallville) along with local boy Michael Rosander and Mike Holmes.  They’ve already shot more than 65% of the flick.  I donated about a month ago.  So, get on it!  Even if its just a couple of bucks, every bit helps! DONATE NOW!

WHAT’S UP IN WILMYWOOD 07/10/2013

Good Morning!  The numbers are in and Under the Dome is STILL #1 baby!  The numbers dipped slightly by 7% but still held a large enough audience to crush the competition with 10.6 million viewers.  They were not only #1 in their time slot, but #1 for the night! Which I will definitely place money on a season two. We should find out this week if that is true.

The folks under the dome will be shooting at Screen Gems today.  I wanted to give a huge thank you to Wayne Henderson and Troy Heinritz, two great guys who produce the “Under the Dome Radio Podcast.” I recently spent some time with them discussing the show, revealing a few locations and hyping up our NC film incentives along with our crew.  Take a listen when you can.

Also, guess who popped in the studio yesterday?  Cutie pie, John Elvis, who plays the character Ben!  We had a great time talking about life under the dome, his relationships with the cast and for the girls who have a crush on him, whether he is single or taken!   Check out his entire interview now!

As soon as Sleepy Hollow begins productions, Christmas in Conway is not far behind!  Production begins for the Hallmark Movie around August 5th.  They don’t have the Extras Casting director finalized as of yet, but I will let you know!

That just about does it for me; I will have more Wilmywood updates for you tomorrow morning and every weekday morning at 7:30am & 8:30am LIVE on Sunny 104.5.  Got Scoop?  Email me: sheila@1045sunnyfm.com.  Or message me on Wilmywood’s FB .  Or just post your comments below!  Until then, that’s a wrap!

WHAT’S UP IN WILMYWOOD – 07/02/2013 – Christmas comes early in Wilmywood!

Hallmark Movie Channel

Another movie coming to Wilmington would be like Christmas coming early, right?  Well, according to my sources, it is.  And they have the offices to prove it. The Hallmark Movie, Christmas in Conway has set up shop at the 1200 building on 23rd St.  They’ve been scouting around the area including downtown and its surrounding neighborhoods.  Brent Shields is Executive Producer, John Kent Harrison is directing, Ronnie Yeskel and Sharon Howard-Field are doing principal castingI will keep you posted!

Well, yesterday I found out tours for Screen Gems won’t happen as soon as August, in fact it is still TBD at the moment, BUT there are BIG PLANS FOR THE BACKLOT – and it’s going to be HUGE!  Looks like 17+ buildings going up recreating colonial times for Sleep Hollow!  This will Screen Gemsbe the biggest set we have had yet on the back lot at Screen Gems!  And you know what that means?  It means money in our vendor’s pockets!  Paint stores, lumber, hardware, you name it!  Keep the Wilmington economy going, Sleepy Hollow!!  Production begins at the end of the month.

WECT picked up on this fun story!  27 year old Rachel Spalding will be one of 16 cast members on a new reality show called Summer Camp on USA Network.  They will compete for a chance to win $250,000.  The show premieres Thursday, July 11 at 8 p.m

While, I am waiting rather impatiently for Episode 2’s numbers, the encore of the pilot for Under the Dome grabbed 5.12 million viewers giving it the most viewers in its time slot and 3rd place overall for Sunday night!  I know Under the Dome’s final ratings count of 16.6million views last week is going to be hard to beat, but as long as the numbers are still double digits, we should indeed see a second season announcement.  :::::biting fingernails:::::  The Under the Dome folks are shooting at the farm again in Currie, NC.  Thanks for the pic, Sandie!

BREAKING NEWS: NBC GIVES REVOLUTION SEASON TWO GREENLIGHT!

NBC Renews 5 Dramas including Revolution

Christmas comes early folks~!  We got ourselves a season two!  And if all goes according to what my sources tell me, it will come back to Wilmington.  I sure hope they are right!  I asked cast member Tim Guinee his thoughts and he said, “Over the moon about it.  I’m really grateful that the hardest working cast and crew in the business is getting another shot.  Yay ILM!”

Read the entire article from The Hollywood Reporter – “From J.J. Abrams‘ Bad Robot and Warner Bros. TV, Revolution ranks as NBC’s top scripted drama across all of primetime — averaging more than 6 million viewers in the advertiser-coveted adults 18-49 demographic.”

The story continues as they link part of Revolution’s success to having The Voice as a lead-in on Monday nights this season.  Regardless of coming back from a mid-season break slightly down in the numbers, they say it is still very much a success for the 2012-13 TV season.

Thank you NBC and Bad Robot because we sure love having Revolution film here in Wilmington, NC!
