WHAT’S UP IN WILMYWOOD 08/01/2013 UTD, Sleepy Hollow, We’re The Millers and more.

At first I thought I was going to have a very weird day not reporting where Under the Dome was shooting, but thanks to the rain, I get to hold on to that one more time!

British bats

They are having a bit of a crisis.  It seems as though the cast and crew are competing for space with the creatures of the night.  Under the Dome has pushed their shoot not only because fo the rain but also because these flying rodents are everywhere.  100s of them.  I have to say though the Ideal Cement Factory is an Ideal place for a bat cave.  I would totally live there if I was a bat!

Here’s what’s in store for us Monday night on CBS!

Andy Garcia Deauville 2009

The gorgeous Andy Garcia joins the cast of Christmas in Conway!! Somebody get me a personal meeting stat cuz oh my goodness!!!!  Also joining Mary Louise Parker is the returning Mandy Moore.  She has walked Wilmywood’s street before in “The Walk to Remember” back in 2002.  Nice memories 🙂

Sleepy Hollow is finally coming back to Wilmington from their long nights in New Bern.  They are looking for several “detective types” and “city hall types” for filming this Monday.  They are looking for both male and females between the ages of 25-65.  For more details, visit Sleepy Hollow’s casting FB page.

Don’t forget to VOTE for Wilmington to get an early screening of FOX’s Sleepy Hollow! We need about 100 votes to stay ahead of the game today!  Chicago is catching up to us!!

Danny McBride

It’s Christmas in…well August for Eastbound and Down as they head over to the Icehouse.  Poor Danny is going to kill himself before this season wraps!  Let’s hope is better at ice skating than roller skating.  I can picture him playing hockey, can’t you?  After some chilly fun, they will can be seen throughout the Ogden area.  Some Caroling, maybe?

Heads up! I am gonna have tickets to see We’re the Millers that was shot right here in Wilmywood.  It opens Tuesday at Carmike Cinemas!  Tune in to Sunny 104.5 at 8:30am to win!

filmjobsAlso, I will be at Carolina BBQ (Murrayville Station location) tomorrow from 11am-1pm for our 1st stop to raise money for the upcoming Sunny 104.5 Caring For Kids at NHRMC Radiothon.  I will be passing out those “Film=Jobs” stickers!  So come on out and see me!

That just about does it for me; I will have more Wilmywood updates for you Monday morning and every weekday morning at 7:30am & 8:30am LIVE on Sunny 104.5.  Got Scoop?  Email me: sheila@1045sunnyfm.com.  Or message me on Wilmywood’s FB .  Or just post your comments below!  Until then, that’s a wrap!

BREAKING: Under the Dome numbers are up!!

Under the Dome numbers are up!!

Vulture.com’s Joe Adalian just announced:

UNDER THE DOME ticks UP to a 2.8 A18-49. Surprised if S2 announcement doesn’t come at Eye’s TCA session next week, if not earlier.

TV by the numbers is reporting with their overnight numbers that Under the Dome carried 11.37 million viewers with a 2.8 this week (up 4 percent from last week’s 2.7).  (Source: The Nielsen Company) Even the new little prince couldn’t outshine the Domies.  It was quite clear who was king of the night! We will find out if indeed the numbers adjust up later today for E5: Blue on Blue!

Will post more on this blog when info streams in!

WHAT’S UP IN WILMYWOOD 07/17/2013- Under the Dome, Eastbound and Down and more.

wilmywood_suuny heading

Under the Dome is holding steady in the ratings game!  Monday night’s episode garnered a 2.7 with overnight numbers listed as 10.8 million viewers.  Later in the day the numbers adjusted up to 11.13M!  Yay!  The show is holding strong! Apparently it also has a hold of teenage hearts because the show was nominated for a Teen Choice Award for “Choice Summer TV Show.”  The summer sensation is going up against “Teen Wolf”, “Pretty Little Liars”, SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE and “The Fosters.”  The award show airs Sunday, August 11th LIVE on Fox.  Teens can VOTE once a day!

Have you seen Bruce Willis guest stars on Under the Dome?  For those who missed it or just wanna see 5 more times, here’s the clip from David Letterman on Monday night!

JohnElvis9John Elvis who plays the character Ben on Under the Dome got auctioned off over the weekend all for a good cause, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.  $800 was raised for a dinner date which took place last night at the restaurant, “9” downtown.  John got a 2 for 1 special as Elizabeth Singletary and Annie West Graham both wanted him!  Love it!  Thanks for helping out John!  Thank you to 9’s owner, Matt Schuler, and CF Foundation’s Susan Wasserman for organizing this date!  And thank you to Christine Poppe White for taking the great pics!   They had a great time! Fan John on Facebook!

Under the Dome is back in Burgaw today shooting at the hospital.  They begin shooting the final episode on Friday!  Booo!  I miss them already!

I reported this yesterday, but a friend was like, “Sheila don’t start getting all TMZ on us.  Reporting drama where there’s none.  I mean who hasn’t fell wearing roller skates.” Yeah, he was right.  This is actually a non-story.  So, I took down the “This Just In” story and saved it as a side note for today.  If you haven’t heard (I can’t imagine you haven’t) Danny McBride fell while roller skating.  There done!  For extra precaution they took him to Cape Fear Hospital.   I wonder if he signed a bedpan for them or something?

That just about does it for me; I will have more Wilmywood updates for you tomorrow morning and every weekday morning at 7:30am & 8:30am LIVE on Sunny 104.5.  Got Scoop?  Email me: sheila@1045sunnyfm.com.  Or message me on Wilmywood’s FB .  Or just post your comments below!  Until then, that’s a wrap!

WHAT’S UP IN WILMYWOOD 07/15/2013 The Weekend Afterglow

A great time was had over the weekend. Let’s start with the Pipeline to a Cure, the benefit to support Cystic Fibrosis.  We decided to auction off a date with Under the Dome’s John Elvis who came out to support.  We ended up raising $800.  Here’s some great photos from the night:

Toni Silvagni, our own surf hero here in Carolina Beach was honored on Saturday night, which means he didn’t get to go to the premiere party for The Perfect Summer that was shot here just a few months ago by Swirl Films.  But thank goodness they aired it multiple times over the weekend on the Up Network (TWC 283), so everyone got the chance to see it.  Have to give major kudos to Swirl for getting in some of the best establishing shots on our area.  Makes me wanna move there…oh wait…

1064036_10152992247495117_575935430_oSo, let’s flip back to Under the Dome real quick.  Episode 4 is tonight on CBS at 10pm.   As if living under the dome wasn’t already cruel enough, tonight Chester’s Mill is being hit with a meningitis outbreak, and to make matters worse the medical supplies are running low.

Don’t forget Live tweeting with the cast and producers at #UnderTheDome.   Or hang at the viewing party at Hell’s Kitchen downtown at 10pm.   The gang is shooting back in Currie, NC today.  They UTD4only have two more weeks of production before the cast heads to where ever they will go.  Still waiting for official word for a season two.  If that does indeed happen, we won’t have to miss the gang for too long.  The cast had another rambling weekend. Colin and Mackenzie joined Nick, Aisha, Rachelle, Dean, Jolene, John, Alex for dinner than all those over the age of 21 enjoyed the rest of the night downtown.

Finishing with some quickies, Michael Phelps was back in Wrightsville Beach over the weekend at The Yacht Club. Tomorrow, Eastbound and Down is shooting Union Missionary Baptist Church,  and Maides Park.

WHAT’S UP IN WILMYWOOD 07/11/2013 Another movie coming to town, See the Dome hitting Chestnut St!

Gotta give some kudos to Star News’ Cassie Foss!  She has uncovered some more great filmmaking coming up in the area.  Winston-Salem based, Inspirata Films is producing But Now I See which is about the life of John Newton, whose conversion from slave trader to  pastor helped him write the famous song, “Amazing Grace.”  They will be  shooting in our area the first week of August.  Bald Head Island and  Oak Island will be standing in for Plantain Island and Fort Macon near  Atlantic Beach will be transformed into the Kittim fort, the center for  slave trade. The film stars newcomers, Erik Nelson and Edison Skinner.   John Jackman is directing.  They are expecting a February release on  DVD.   Read Cassie’s complete story.
Cassie also picked up on this storyDIY Network’s “Raising House” will feature a couple’s new Carolina Beach home for this upcoming season with the help of Tidal Wave Construction, the Carolina Beach company that’s building the home. ChestnutStDomeUnder the Dome is super busy today with two crews running.  They will be filming on Brookwood Ave off Market St. as well as on the lot and possibly in Currie, NC.   And have you seen Chestnut Street recently?  It has been hit by the dome!  Check it out!  How cool is that!

Eastbound and Down is shooting on Masonboro Road.  There’s a big scene today with over 100 extras!

WHAT’S UP IN WILMYWOOD 07/10/2013

Good Morning!  The numbers are in and Under the Dome is STILL #1 baby!  The numbers dipped slightly by 7% but still held a large enough audience to crush the competition with 10.6 million viewers.  They were not only #1 in their time slot, but #1 for the night! Which I will definitely place money on a season two. We should find out this week if that is true.

The folks under the dome will be shooting at Screen Gems today.  I wanted to give a huge thank you to Wayne Henderson and Troy Heinritz, two great guys who produce the “Under the Dome Radio Podcast.” I recently spent some time with them discussing the show, revealing a few locations and hyping up our NC film incentives along with our crew.  Take a listen when you can.

Also, guess who popped in the studio yesterday?  Cutie pie, John Elvis, who plays the character Ben!  We had a great time talking about life under the dome, his relationships with the cast and for the girls who have a crush on him, whether he is single or taken!   Check out his entire interview now!

As soon as Sleepy Hollow begins productions, Christmas in Conway is not far behind!  Production begins for the Hallmark Movie around August 5th.  They don’t have the Extras Casting director finalized as of yet, but I will let you know!

WHAT’S UP IN WILMYWOOD 07/08/2013 – It’s Dome Day once again!

It’s Dome Day once again, so either watch Under the Dome at 10pm tonight or set your DVRs!  And you know where to go for the viewing party.  Hell’s Kitchen is the place to be.  Some of the stars show up for the weekly event, you never know who is going to be there.  If you are a fan of John Elvis who plays the character Ben, he’s a regular, so stop on by and say hello!  Tonight is his big scene showing off his mad skating skills.  What were the stars up to this weekend? Rachelle LeFevre spent some time in Charleston over the weekend at the Market Pavilion Hotel and was especially entranced with their down home,  southern food.   Looks like Mackenzie Lintz went back to her homestate of MidnightRamblersGeorgia to hang with some of her besties.  Jolene Purdy, Nicholas Strong  and Alex Koch aka the Midnight Ramblers as they call themselves, rambled all over Wilmington.  Nicholas said they were at the beach, the pool, they barbequed, even had a dinner party set to Sinatra.  Here’s a pic they tweeted over the weekend.

Only a few days left to win a map of Chester’s Mill & a signed copy of #UnderTheDome by Stephen King! Enter now!

Ty Pennington of Extreme Makeover fame, was hanging with some local friends at Topsail Beach over the weekend.  Did you see him?  I wonder if he is as ADD in real life as he is on the show.  No matter, he is sooo adorable!

Eastbound and Down is  shooting on Tabor Lane just off N Kerr Ave today.  There’s a casting call for Wednesday’s shoot from NCasting: EASTBOUND & DOWN: “This will work Wednesday.  I need 5 Mexican males ages 18 and up. Please spread the word!!! Have them email me a CURRENT photograph with the following information – NAME, AGE, HEIGHT/WEIGHT,
PHONE # ebdextras@gmail.com

Excitement is filling the air as we gear up for Sleepy Hollow.  They begin production in two weeks. As far as casting goes for the Fox show, I do know they will be looking for Revolutionary War re-actors really soon. I will keep you posted or you can check for more details at Revo Casting Calls on Facebook.”
