Wilmywood Crew Member gets Emmy Nomination!

(pictured on right) HUGE congratulations to Wilmywood crew member Larry Long who just received an Emmy nomination for his fabulous sound mixing skills on Homeland!  He is currently working on Under the Dome, in the same field of course. This is his third Emmy nomination for Homeland.  He was nominated in 2012 and 2013.  Let’s hope third time’s a charm!  Larry has been working in the North Carolina film industry since at least the early 1990s.  Make sure when you see him today to give him a pat on the back, a high-five, a fist bump and a big old bear hug!!

THE WILMYWOOD DAILY – 07/10/2014 Gov’s False Claim of Abuse, Emmy Noms for NC Film and More.

In an excellent article in the Star News, film supporters and industry leaders are firing back at the Governor’s claim of abuse of the film incentive and we have proof that his statements are completely false.

starnewsPat McCrory said the state paid Comedy Central $400,000 when The Daily Show with Jon Stewart came in and covered the democratic convention. But after checking the audit records, the production company received $190,211 from the incentive not the 400k. They spent a total of $760,846 here in North Carolina.

Now, we all know the truth, however, the general public only hears so much. These are the kind of things that get people to believe all the false rumors and myths about our film industry. McCrory just spews out misinformation and goes about his business. I would like a retraction from him on his statement, and I think we should all call for it.  It is our industry that the governor is abusing, not the other way around.  READ ARTICLE NOW!

And if you would like to join me in asking our governor to retract his false statement, please do!

The Emmy nominations are in and here is where NC Film shines!

HUGE congratulations to Craig and Lisa Fincannon for getting nominated for  Outstanding Casting For A Drama Series: Homeland!!  Woo Hoo!!  Wilmywood is so proud!

NBC’s Revolution was nominated for stunt coordination for the episode “Nobody’s Fault But Mine.” Congrats to Jeff Wolfe!!

Also up for an Emmy, and I love the way Jeff Hidek from the Star News put it, “The Georgia-filmed episode of #Revolution battles an NC-filmed episode of #Banshee in a visual effects category.”

More  details are circulating about Season 2 of Under the Dome.  Rumor has it, they will be telling the crew at the end of the month.  Now I am curious to know if they will indeed continue the Summer trend or bring it back sooner.  The show is so hot, I dunno if the fans can wait for 10 months for more!  But we will find out soon enough!  The crew will be in Forest Hills this morning, then they move to the sound stage at Screen Gems, then a short trek to the back lot in the woods.  In the meantime as The San Diego Comic Con gets underway, the Under the Dome Comic Con poster was revealed yesterday!  I sooo want one!
