THE WILMYWOOD DAILY – 04/09/2014 Search continues for Shannon Rippy, another Sparks flick, Lifetime, How and Why, HGTV, Dinner with the Stars

Happy Hump Day my Wilmywood peeps!  Oh boy, as if last week wasn’t enough info to keep us 5 crews deep for the year, we got more intel coming in about new projects and some fun tidbits of those that are here.

RumorslogoFirst off, Under the Dome is shooting in Burgaw today. Have a great shoot my film peeps!

Now, let’s get right to it, my favorite thing to write about.  It’s time for Rumors from the Lot!!

choiceNow, having one Nicholas Sparks flick in Wilmywood is pretty awesome, but what if there were two?  Well, there might just be.  According to my sources, Nicholas Sparks is looking for a triple play, but not in book order.  The Best of Me (2010 Novel, shooting in New Orleans now), The Longest Ride (2013 Novel, pre-production in Wilmington now) and now the latest rumors from the lot say he is jumping back a good 7 years to bring The Choice (2007 Novel, currently in development) to the big screen.  And word has it, Wilmywood is high on their list when it comes to a production home.

Sparks however isn’t the only one sniffing around.  My sources are telling me that Lifetime has been giving Wilmywood a wink and a nod as a possible hub for one of their projects.  Which one?  Well, I can speculate, however, I’d rather not jump the gun on that quite yet.

VIEW POTENTIAL 2014 WILMYWOOD FILM SLATE

Charlie-KaufmanAs we gear for the highly anticipated pilot, How and Why from FX, get ready for quite a cast.  So far we know John Hawkes, Michael Cera, Julia Sarah Stone, Sally Hawkins, and Catherine Keener have signed on.  But we can expect to hear more casting news. From what I hear, it’s going to be quite a large cast.  Oh and FYI, we will be welcoming into town the one and only Charlie Kauffman next week!

THE WILMYWOOD DAILY – 10/16/2013 Seinfeld writer brings Pilot to Wilmywood, Under the Dome, The Squeeze and More

chrismcdonaldBREAKING: According to WWAY, Christopher McDonald who is starring in The Squeeze was arrested for drunk driving this morning in downtown Wilmington.  Well, that gives a whole new meaning to Shooter McGavin, doesn’t it?  (Sorry bad joke that had to be said).  Lesson learned though to all cast and crew who come to Wilmington to film.  Wilmington takes drinking and driving very serious in this town.  Always hire a driver!  READ STORY NOW Production begins Friday for The Squeeze at the 6th St. Bridge!

Another TV Pilot is underway in Wilmywood. Kaufmann Media Group brings Do Not Resuscitate to their Wilmington facility Post 1200 across from EUE/Screen Gems. The show has been co-created with a veteran Seinfeld writer and are in search of local talent. They have already been through their first round of auditions, but I don’t think they are over.  I will keep you posted on that front. The Emmy nominated principals of KMG have a 20 year history in Hollywood. Their Wilmington location (Post 1200), open just over a year, has touched almost every local production since expanding to North Carolina. KMG continues to direct Los Angeles business toward the NC market in support of the local film community.

DontknowYetWilmington shot Don’t Know Yet will premiere at the NYC Independent Film Festival tomorrow. The stars James Kyson (Heroes) and Lisa Goldstein (One Tree Hill).  UNCW professor,Terry Linehan, wrote and directed the feature and he calls it  “a love letter to the state of North Carolina.”  You will also see local actors David Andrews, Bill Ladd and Jane McNeill Balter. RATINGS: The Plague Brings Devotion to Sleepy Hollow

Sleepy-Hollow-Title

Last week, The Lesser Key unlocked a 2.7 rating with 7.76M viewers for Sleepy Hollow, but it looks like the plague took over, bringing devoted fans rather than devastation. Well, keeping their fans.  Ichabod kept us laughing out loud with his “impenetrable barrier” issues with plastic and his fascination with scotch tape and loofahs, but of course, the suspense, drama and curiosity kept us glued to the TV .  This week, the initial numbers indicate they show held on to 7.5M live viewers this week, with a 2.6 rating.  Hollow is still #1 in its time slot.  Adjustments will come later today, and I am betting they will adjust up as they always do!

What do the experts say?

Gaude Paez Morose  –#SleepyHollow drew a 2.6/7 & 7.5 mil viewers. Fun fact: last night’s Sleepy was up +15% in Teens. Is Roanoke big w/ the kids these days?

.

Joe Adalian –  SLEEPY HOLLOW notched a 2.6 A18-49, beating CBS comedies and DWTS.

Sleepy Hollow Rolls Heads with Ratings!

Sleepy-Hollow-Title

Another great night blended with suspense, hilarity and down right creepiness!  So, let’s find out who was watchin’!  SH had some serious competition last night, but regardless it held its headless high beating CBS sitcoms with a 3.1 A18-49. It’s down four tenths from last week’s 3.5, but that is norm for the second episode.  So, down a bit, yes, but still chopped some competition! See what Joe says below, and you will smile.

What do the experts say?

Anthony Crupi  “Sleepy Hollow week 2 pulls a 3.1, which translates to a 91% retention rate versus the premiere overnight. #renewal

.
Joe Adalian SLEEPY HOLLOW’s 11 percent decline from premiere qualifies as a great week-to-week hold. Per Fox, REVOLUTION declined 17% W2, ELEMENTARY 19%”

“Fringe” star John Noble joins the Headless Cast.

Wilmywood welcomes Aussie actor, John Noble, as he joins his Fringe creators, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, for a major recurring role in Sleepy Hollow.

Noble will play Henry Parrish, a kind and reclusive man who possesses supernatural powers that have the potential to help Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison).  He’s gonna need it.  If you remember a few days ago, we reported James Frain’s entrance to the show playing the character Rutledge, an Oxford Professor, who holds secrets that could cause problems that could affect Crane’s mission.

Sleepy Hollow kicked some ratings booty Monday with 10.1 million viewers and is officially the network’s most viewed fall drama debut in seven years.

WHAT’S UP IN WILMYWOOD – 06/27/2013 More stars in town, Sleepy Hollow Airdates and more.

Looks like Ken Marino(Children’s Hospital) has been here under the radar.  According to deadline.com, he has joined the cast of HBO’s  Eastbound & Down and will appear in all eight episodes from Season 4, playing Guy Young, a middle-aged athlete who’s still living the high life and partying it up every weekend.

Also cast as a recurring  is Tim Heidecker(Funny or Die) as Gene, a “vanilla guy in Kenny’s neighborhood.”  He has nothing in common with Kenny and lacks even a basic sense of humor.   The upcoming fourth season picks up the action several years later and finds Kenny living the American Dream with his family in North Carolina.  The Eastbound crew is filming on the lot today.

The Under the Dome folks travel to Southport today.  Looks like they are shooting on Nash and Bay St.  Here’s an Under the Dome look at Episode two – Fire’s a brewin’! This Monday, 10pm EST on CBS!   Fox is getting a jump start on their rivals as dates are set for the fall line up.  The only one we really care about though is Sleep Hollow, right?  Ha!  Okay, so here’s what there doing…in a nutshell they are giving us a HUGE tease!  The series premiere launches on Monday, September 16 at 9pm following the series premiere on Bones.  Let me remind you this is the pilot they shot in Salisbury, NC.  Then, they will do an encore on Friday, September 27th.  So, when will we see episode two?  Freakin’ NOVEMBER!  Argh!  Okay, I’ll calm down, I get it, I mean, they don’t start shooting the rest of the season until late next month, so they will need some time.  But still, after I saw the pilot of Under the Dome, I didn’t want to wait one week for episode two, let alone months!  Anywho, we will go weekly with Sleepy Hollow, Monday, November 4th at 9pm.  It follows the season premiere of Almost Human.

niagratammyThe last day for Tammy is officially today.  They are at Niagara Falls.  It’s a long way down, so no Thelma & Louise moments, Susan!  My buddy Chris tweeted me this photo yesterday.  That just about does it for me; I will have more Wilmywood updates for you tomorrow morning and every weekday morning at 7:30am & 8:30am LIVE on Sunny 104.5.  Got Scoop?  Email me: sheila@1045sunnyfm.com.  Or message me on Wilmywood’s FB .  Or just post your comments below!  Until then, that’s a wrap!
