It’s Turner’s turn at the Upfronts and our leading lady and man, Michelle Dockery and Juan Diego Botto, are in New York to strut their stuff for our Wilmywood shot series, Good Behavior.

It’s happening now, so come back right here for more updates!

Leap into Wilmywood! Tidbits for the day!

Good Leap Day Monday morning to ya! Such a beautiful day for great news!

Juan Diego Botto, the male lead in our TNT show Good Behavior, was proud to show the view he woke up to this morning to all of Twitterland.

A week from today, Good Behavior will be out on the streets again! Yes! I can’t wait to see those lighting and grip trucks lining the streets! For day one, they will be around the Cape Fear Country Club! Let’s hope it’s a beautiful day like today for their first day! They will also be hanging out on One Tree Hill Way.

And speaking of One Tree Hill, tickets go on sale today at 2pm EST for Inside OTH!  This the Cast/Crew/Fan reunion that is being put on by Wilmington Locals that worked on the show! Here are the 8 confirmed cast members so far. There will be more announcements soon!

And speaking on One Tree Hill yet again, did you see why there was climate change in Wilmington? Joe Manganiello (One Tree Hill Alum) and his Seal Team enjoying some time together before they take on History Channel’s SIX. They are shooting in LA right now, but they will begin filming here in Wilmington March 10th! Our first sighting for these guys on location will be on the 14th and 15th on Shirley Rd . They are really heating things up in this little Port City for sure!

And just for fun, let’s see some more of what Joe posted in the last week!

Michelle Dockery like we’ve never seen her before: Bad!

From the trailer for TNT's Good Behavior

Oh boy!  As Wilmywood gears up for production of the first season of TNT’s Good Behavior, here’s a taste of what’s to come from the Letty Dobesh book series conversion for the small screen! I got 5 words for Michelle Dockery as she throws away her Downton Abbey morals and manners: Bad never looked so good! Check out the trailer below!

Filming resumes this March with production offices opening at the end of this month at EUE/Screen Gems Studios!

More on Wilmywood’s ‘Good Behavior’ and ‘Six’

Happy Monday boys and girls!  Last week we had a double dose of great news when it came to jobs! To quickly recap,  we found out we have not one, but two shows opening offices here in Wilmywood next month.

First up, TNT’s Good Behavior. After shooting the pilot here in October, the producers and writers fell in love with Wilmington and our crew base.  And we were all like, “Well yeah! Of course they did!”

The crew has told me on multiple occasions how great the set was, how easy it was to work with producers/writers Chad Hodge and Blake Crouch, and they bragged about the excellent quality of the show. So of course it was fingers and toes crossed for all involved for a return to our fabulous Port City. They also hoped the pilot’s director Charlotte Sieling would return as well.

Last week, TNT made the announcement that Good Behavior got the green light and will shoot 9 more episodes.

The fabulous Dale Williams will be the UPM on this project. From what I hear they plan on opening offices at the end of January and will begin shooting in the first week of March. They will be shaping up the pilot, then they will shoot nine more episodes. That will bring our NC film crew employment until around the end of June.

blakecrouchI caught up with our NC native, Blake Crouch, over the weekend and he had this to say:

We are absolutely thrilled and grateful for the chance to continue Good Behavior. We wouldn’t have gotten here without our tremendous Wilmington crew. We share this success with them. Can’t wait to return!

See that crew? It’s official, you are indeed that awesome!

Blake is from the Piedmont area and already has a television series on the air — the adaptation of his trilogy Wayward Pines (great read BTW). Now although Pines got a second season pickup from FOX, Chad Hodge won’t be returning to the FOX show. We get to keep him here in Wilmington.

The show stars Downton Abbey’s Michelle Dockery and Juan Diego Botto.

navy-wallpapers-8Now as for the second series, Six coming from the History Channel, David Brightbill will be UPM on this one and he is “looking forward to working at home!” He is not alone. There will be quite a few folks returning home from working out of state due to the lack of productions. (Yeah, don’t even get me started about that). The latest is that Six will open offices the first week of January, get about 6 weeks of prep in and begin shooting around mid-February.

History Channel to bring ‘Six’ to Wilmywood.

Quite a few of you have asked me about casting and crew calls. There is nothing yet. I got up with our Wilmington Film Commissioner Johnny Griffin to be sure and he said that things will probably be quiet until we get past the first of the year. Johnny is optimistic about the coming year. “2016 is looking good as we are starting off with a bang so early in the year,” he said. “The response from L.A. is a positive one from this point. ”

There is quite a bit of interest in Wilmington right now, so let’s hope we can keep the momentum going!

After posting yesterday’s news, I’ve had so many confirmations from so many folks, we’re gonna go ahead and call it! Plus, Production Weekly’s got Wilmywood as a location as well. Good Behavior is coming to Wilmington! We will see the TNT series open offices next month! Get ready to see those lighting and grip trucks lining the streets again the first week of March!! JOBS JOBS JOBS!

A huge thank you to TNT, our North Carolina writer Blake Crouch and to Chad Hodge for bringing the show here. We Wilmywood peeps appreciate your choice which benefits our local economy including our fabulous small businesses and the employment of our fabulously talented crew! Bless you!

To Michelle, Juan and the rest of the cast and producing team, we welcome you with open arms, big hugs and warm smiles. We hope you enjoy your stay!

‘Good Behavior’ gets a Thumbs Up from TNT

What we’ve been waiting for — the green glow of bright Hollywood bulbs and the smell of a sweet season pick up! The series Good Behavior, which came here in October to shoot the pilot, got a 10 episode order from TNT. So that leaves nine more episodes to go.

Good Behavior is based on the Letty Dobesh books by our NC native author Blake Crouch. Chad Hodge is the EP/Showrunner. The duo teamed up for Crouch’s other book series adaptation Wayward Pines, however, as Pines heads for a 2nd season on FOX, the network will move forward sans Hodge.

Lusia Strus & Terry Kinney  will join Michelle Dockery and Juan Diego Botto to round up the cast list. And yeah check out the hot duo above, courtesy of Deadline/TNT.

Sarah Aubrey, EVP of original programming for TNT, told Deadline,  “We believe audiences will love watching Michelle Dockery trade in her manners for the life of a sexy, complex ex-con in Good Behavior.

We agree and can’t wait til their return! Which begs to ask that exact question: “Will they return to Wilmington?” Since I last blogged about it two days ago, I’ve been digging so hard, I’ve got blisters to prove it! I’ve been speaking with a handful of folks, I am gonna go with 90% chance of “Yes indeed!” I’m waiting to hear back from a couple more people. If that is the case, you will see offices open in January at Screen Gems. That would be awesome for the crew who worked on the pilot, many of them unemployed until a show returns to Wilmywood.

TNT’s Good Behavior: That’s a Wrap!

The good boys and girls will be finishing their final shots in Wilmington late, late tonight, so…Thank you to TNT along with Executive Producers Chad Hodge and North Carolina proud Blake Crouch for keeping NC film jobs rolling, for shopping at our local businesses, and for feasting at our local restaurants and on our local catering! Thanks to Michelle Dockery, Juan Diego Botto and the rest of the cast for being so kind and as the crew have said “so great to work with.”

THE WILMYWOOD DAILY – 10/16/2015 Tidbits for the week

TNT’s Good Behavior starring Michelle Dockery and Juan Diego Botto has had some great weather for filming this week. They’ve been to Manna, Isaac’s Men’s Store, and Salt Works to name a few. Today they head to EUE/Screen Gems and trek out to Currie next week.

blakecrouchI’m gettin’ a really good feelin’ about this one. I smell a pick up! Let’s hope they return to Wilmywood if they do! Chad, Blake…are you listening? We would love to see you back here in 2016!

You know what else I am hearing? “Everyone is so nice!” From the producers to the director to the actors, I keep hearing what a great group they are to work with.

The Low Budget Faith-based Feature Film titled Restoration will be coming to Wilmington for a big high school wrestling match scene. They need non-paid extras at Williston Middle School this Saturday the 17th. Email if you can work and for more details.

Finally, it’s Tim Robbins’ birthday! Let’s celebrate  by remembering The Hudsucker Proxy that was filmed right here in Wilmywood. Here’s the best scene showcasing downtown Wilmington when they filmed here in 1993. The movie was released in ’94. Enjoy the clip above!

TNT’s ‘Good Behavior’ adds two more cast members.

Lusia Strus & Terry Kinney have been added to the list of cast members. They will join Michelle Dockery and Juan Diego Botto on our TNT Drama Pilot, Good Behavior.

It looks like EPs Blake Crouch and Chad Hodge are keeping it in the family with casting Lusia Strus as she had a recurring role on Wayward Pines.

Strus plays Estelle who “lives in rural Georgia and has custody of Letty’s ten year-old son Jacob. After the “nightmare” of her daughter Letty, Estelle sees Jacob as her do-over. She talks tough and is very serious about being Jacob’s guardian. But in her efforts to be a good mother she may be doing even more damage. Like Letty, Estelle has dark demons…and way too much fun.”

Kinney (Black Box, Billions), is a more straight and narrow kinda guy, at least he appears to be. He plays Christian, Letty’s substance abuse counselor. “A mentor and father figure to a woman who lives at her lowest point. Christian doesn’t always hear the truth from Letty, but he’s lying to her, as well, not only about his own sobriety, but also about why he’s really ‘helping’ her.”

TNT’s Good Behavior shoots at more local hot spots.

Tomorrow is the big day for TNT’s Good Behavior! Day 1. Last week, we talked about some local staples in which we will being seeing the production team setting up. Now we have a few more! They will be shooting at Salt Works Restaurant and in the parking lot at the NHC Arboretum on Friday.

Next week they head to some more locations we know and love. We will see our NC Film Crew working at the fabulous restaurant Manna as well as the Cape Fear Club. Then the following week, they will head to the Carolinian Inn on Market St.

Can’t wait to see those lighting and grip trucks lining the streets once again! So welcome back to work NC Film Crew!

Also, I would like to give a HUGE shout out of love and respect to Good Behavior’s UPM, Dale Williams. If you don’t know who she is, she is probably one of the greatest role models for all women in the business and I believe is under appreciated.

She has worked as a Production Manager here in Wilmington for many years and she is incredible at her job. But Dale is not only exceptional as a UPM, but from what I’ve heard over the years, she is WAY more than that.  I have been told over and over again that she is one of the people that are responsible for saving film.  I don’t know her very well, but I can tell you she is in my top 5 of most respected women in Wilmington.

So, if you happen to see Dale today, give her some major kudos and tell her just how much you appreciate her! And if you happen to read this Dale, YOU ROCK! Thank you for all you do! Have a GREAT first day tomorrow!
