Under the Dome’s Mackenzie Lintz’s emotional goodbye to Wilmington

Under the Dome’s Mackenzie Lintz wrote something today that was so heartfelt and so beautiful that I asked her if I could share it with you. And in her usual bubbly way, she responded with “Of course!” This was especially tough for me to read because A) She is one of my favorite cast members.  Her whole family is such an amazing group of beautiful human beings and B) Under the Dome is saying good bye to Wilmington.  Take the time to read her letter to you, Wilmington. It is emotional.  It is honest. It speaks volumes about our community that we love to call home. Wilmywood.

Seeing as the final day of shooting season 3 is tomorrow, I can’t stop thinking of the news we heard this week. We do not know for sure if Under the Dome is going to get a season 4 yet because the season is not finished airing. But this week we did find out one thing. Hearing the announcement that even if we do get a 4th season, we will not be returning to Wilmington, gave me a pit in my stomach. Not because I will miss tower 7 cheese dip. Not because I won’t get to spend more time on Wrightsville Beach than in my apartment. But because the people on our crew are my family and leaving them is giving me the toughest feeling.

It’s hard to put this feeling into words. How do you put 3 years into words really. I cannot even explain how much I have loved, laughed, and grown in the past three years working in Wilmington, NC. The people on our crew are the hardest working group of people I have ever known and I feel privileged to have gotten to spend the time with them that I did. They are not just co workers- they are family.

From helping me pick my junior prom dress, to trash talking me about college football, to watching me graduate high school- these people have seen me grow up and go through many crucial moments in my life. I don’t have enough big words and long paragraphs to explain how thankful I am to each and every one of them for in some way shaping the person I am today.

To everyone who has put their time, heart, and soul(and sometimes mental health 🙂 ) into making our show here in Wilmington, I love you dearly and I will never forget these past three years, as they have been the best of my life. Thank you for your hard work and for loving me as a adopted little sister, an adopted daughter, or just as “Mack”.

I love you guys so so much.

THE WILMYWOOD DAILY – 04/23/2014 – UNDER THE DOME CAST CAN SING!!, How and Why, Max Steel and more.

HAPPY HUMP DAAAAYY my beautiful Wilmywood peeps! Let’s get you caught up with the latest!

michael-cera-john-hawkesFX’s How and Why is gearing up for a great shoot.  They have some fabulous sets at EUE/Screen Gems Studios.  It was a three week build and the stars have been trickling in as rehearsals are this week. Most of the pilot will be shot at Screen Gems, but you might spot them out and about sometime next week like at Roland Grise Middle School.  They are running camera tests this week as they get ready for their seven day shoot which begins this Monday!

Max-SteelMattel’s Max Steel in in their final week and prepping like mad!  So glad to say that Ana Villafane has arrived safely and is already training and rehearsing along with Ben Winchell for the start of production next week.  No down time for these young ones!  The producers are trickling in too, so we can hopefully get a chance to welcome them in person!  Bill and Julia, are ya listening?  Writer Christopher Yost is heading back this way for the duration as well, so welcome to Wilmywood, Christopher!

Under the Dome is running two units today and running all over the place. They are shooting at four different locations: on  Victoria Drive, Castle St, Chestnut St and at New Hanover High School. It’s a beautiful day for filming.

And OMG!  Did you have any idea that Grace Victoria Cox and Mackenzie Lintz could sing like this!  AMAZING LADIES!!!  Check it out! Are you ready to come sing on my show?

TWOAT-Cover_JasonMottYesterday, Harlequin released the cover of our handsome NC boy’s, sorry let me change that, New York Times bestselling author’s next book, or as I like to call it, Jason Mott‘s next bestseller!  The Wonder of All Things, is about, “a young girl who has the mysterious gift of healing and who suddenly finds herself having to decide how much she’s willing to give of herself in order to save the ones she loves most.”  The Senior Editor Erika Imranyi is extremely proud of not only the book, but it’s cover.

I love the way they put it: “From critically acclaimed and New York Times bestselling author Jason Mott comes a spellbinding tale of love, sacrifice and the power of miracles.”  Oh yeah, that’s hot!!

Jack Bender’s Art Show w/ Under the Dome Cast

We’ve talked about it all week, and IMPO it was better than expected.  And that’s saying a lot. Robbie McKeithan did a PHENOMENAL job putting it all together! A beautiful art show last night at The Wilma W. Daniels Gallery (200 Hanover St.) in downtown Wilmington. EP/Director/Artist Jack Bender just needs a simple title.  Creative.  Whether its imagining for film or canvas, he is a brilliant man.  A great crowd  assembled and mingled throughout the evening – a lot of NC Film crew members and many of the cast members of Under the Dome:   Mackenzie Lintz, Colin Ford, Alex Koch, John Elvis, Nicholas Strong as well as  newcomers Karla Chrome and Grace Victoria Cox paid a visit as well.  Here’s some fun photos from the event!
