THE WILMYWOOD DAILY – 04/14/2014 Mtv Movie Awards, PaxEast Afterglow, Casting Call for How and Why and More.

By Sheila Brothers and April Vickery

Goood Morning!  Hope you had a great Azalea Fest Weekend.  This was the first Azalea Fest I have missing in 13 years.  Geesh!  But hey, it was worth it to follow our local boys, Hank and Jed Movie Pictures to Boston for PAX East.  A crazy time and worth every bit of dragging ass this morning!  Here’s a few pics from the weekend.

Our Domies are running two Units today. They will be splitting counties, one in Southport as they head back to the church and the other next to Screen Gems on One Tree Hill Way.

JuliaSarahStoneFX’s How and Why put out their first casting call over the weekend, and Ashli’s definitely got a tough one to cast!  But hey, this is Wilmywood!  So, spread the word for our girl!  See below:

WILMINGTON,NC-HOW AND WHY PILOT LOOKING FOR CAUCASIAN MALE AND FEMALES (WOULD LOVE TO FIND TWINS ). THERE IS A LOT OF INFORMATION SO PLEASE READ VERY CAREFULLY AND ONLY SUBMIT IF YOU MEET REQUIREMENTS.

We have one actress who will be playing triplets. I am in need to find 2 photo doubles (would LOVE to find twins!!) who can match her from behind to be used when we need to see all three triplets in a shot. We do have a young actress playing the role, but she is playing a tomboy so from behind it is very likely she will look like a boy. With that said, I would accept options of boys and girls but everyone would need to prepare to alter hair to match how they decided to have the actress look (but I am also seeing if production would consider using wigs). It would also be great if child has some acting experience because they might be asked to read lines off camera in some scenes.

This is a paid position, but the rate has not been finalized, but it shouldn’t be less than $125 per day. Those selected would need to be available to work in Wilmington, NC on Thursday May 1st, Friday May 2nd, Monday May 5th and Tuesday May 6th (please note that these dates can always change). Because this is such a specific look I am looking for, I am willing to consider kids from outside of the Wilmington area, but please note that we will not be able to pay for travel and lodging.

So here is what I am looking for: 11-15 yr old Males and Females 5’4 ½” and petite. I am not sure what color they are going to have our actresses’ hair, so I would open it to blondes and brunettes. The following sizes are in reference to girl sizes: Top/shirt- xs or 0, pants/skirt: 0, hips: 28, 7 or 7.5 shoe. In reference for boys, just need options of small petite guys who wear size small.
If interested and you meet requirements please send recent photos (one shoulder and up, one full body length facing the camera and then one photo full body length facing away from camera), age, height, weight, wardrobe sizes, contact information, and your location to howandwhyextras@gmail.com SUBJECT:PHOTO DOUBLE

cats eyeOn Saturday, the Wilmywood flick Cat’s Eye turned 29 years old. The horror movie written by author Stephen King (maybe you’ve hear of him) and directed by Lewis Teague  incorporates a stray kitty into three different suspense stories. The film stars a young Drew Barrymore who was also the lead in another little NC film by Stephen King’s Firestarter in 1984!

Speaking of novels up on the big screen, have you caught up with Resurrection? Our beloved NC boy Jason Mott (author The Returned which the story is based on) and Kevin Sizemore are making NC film proud. Last night , Kevin’s character “Gary” was introduced and boy did he make an entrance!! Only a couple of more shows before the season finale. You have all week to catch up and then be on Twitter to live chat with the cast using the #Resurrection hashtag.

Speaking of that ABC hit show, it looks like the EW Community folks want me to save my interview with Jason for the finale. They have something in mind that I am quite excited about for this week, so I am happy to oblige!

Yesterday, the big news came out about The Heart. They are coming to Wilmywood! And it looks like they will be in pre-production beginning in May.

Kristen WiigIndian Paintbrush Productions is making this comedy and it will star Kristen Wiig, Sam Rockwell as well as Allison Janney (who was just here for Tammy).   Kristen will star as a cash-strapped woman who agrees to transport black market organs with a man she just met, to be played by Sam.  The writer/director Nat Faxon is no stranger to Wilmington as he has family here.

Our local boys Hank and Jed Movie Pictures are on their way to Boston for PAXEast, one of the largest gaming conventions on the East coast.  The convention sold out in four hours!  They were invited by Plantronics Gaming to be the stars of their booth for the weekend.  Their animated comedy series, Battlefield Friends, which derived from the characters in the game Battlefield 3, is the top show on Machinima’s sub-channel, Happy Hour. The Hank and Jed team announced that the premiere of Season 4 of Battlefield Friends will be on April 41st.  Go figure! I will be following them around all weekend, so I will keep an eye out for the fun on the Battlefield Friends FB page, which has already cleared 121,000 fans!

He was once known simply as the “wild eyed guy” on MADtv and the 7-Up “Up Yours” guy but these days, Orlando Jones is a household name. A name I’m sure many people will be tagging Twitter posts today to say “Happy Birthday” to Sleepy Hollow‘s own “Captain Frank Irving.”  Did you know that not only has Orlando been in over 30 films in his career, that he is also credited s_rg_fsborlando0910_with some video game voiceover action as well? He is a father, a husband and a producer, writer and director. Don’t wait until Sleepy Hollow returns to Wilmywood in May,  follow Orlando on Twitter  and tell him today! Happy birthday from the Sleepyhead HQ!!  P.S. FREE FRANK!

dean-norris-64th-annual-primetime-emmy-awards-02Big shout out to Wilmywood domie, Dean Norris who turns 51 today! We all know Mr. Norris as “Big Jim” the power loving local crazy man of Chester’s Mill and if you follow him on Twitter, you can see that he’s quite the larger than life man outside of the dome too!

This SAG award winner and Harvard grad with the charismatic smile has been in over 30 films and too many TV shows to count! (I don’t have enough fingers and toes!) Wilmywood has gotten to know Mr. Norris over the course of the UTD series and couldn’t be happier to know that he’s here to celebrate his birthday with us. I’m SURE the Twitter feed on this birthday celebration will be something we won’t want to miss.  “Hey, Dean!  F*** You, Buddy!  Happy Birthday!”

shannonRippyStill no sign of film industry friend Shannon Rippy. They searched all day again yesterday, knocking on doors and posting flyers.  If you can help, please visit this FB page Search Team for Shannon Rippy (Van Newkirk)
