Under the Dome Ratings and One Word for Season 3

Although the two-hour season three premiere of Under the Dome was down 38% from the season two premiere, they still crushed the competition. Our Wilmywood shot show had nearly double the viewers than the other network rivals. So, we should still be pleased with the numbers. UTD garnered over 6 million viewers.  Not bad for its third time around.

From time to time, I contribute to the Community section of Entertainment Weekly regarding all television productions filmed right here in Wilmywood. Since we haven’t had much to talk about TV wise for months, it was great to be able to write and capture video for this awesome magazine.  My work is online only, but I still get pretty pumped about talking about filming in our awesome city!  So, whether you have seen the premiere of Under the Dome or not, here are the cast members attempting to describe season 3 in one word.  Enjoy!

What’s your one word?

THE WILMYWOOD DAILY – 08/20/2014 – Orlando Jones does Ice Bucket Challenge with a twist, Locations, Win a trip to LA

Our Domie, Stephen King is taking on the Ice Bucket Challenge for ALS.

The Sleepy Hollow gang is also ready to freeze for the great cause.  Neil Jackson, Lyndie Greenwood and John Noble got in on the action.

Orlando Jones has accepted the challenge as well, but with a twist. In the wake of the disruption, sadness and violence breaking out in Ferguson, MO over the death of the unarmed teen, Michael Brown, Orlando blends the two in his own way. Good job Mr. Jones.

Sleepy Hollow is back downtown creeping through the Nutt St. alleyway.

Secrets & Lies is shooting on Chestnut St.

How did Under the Dome do in the ratings Monday night? It stayed flat with a 1.5 (A18-49) and they gathered 7.3M viewers. Last week, UTD has 6.9M viewers, so up in that regard.  Is it enough for 3rd season pickup? Yes. They were #1 in viewers for the night and they have gained viewers for four straight weeks.

REMINDER: The Remaining, has been adapted into a graphic novel by Kingstone Comics, a Leesburg Christian comic book publisher.  It will be available in retail stores this Friday.

FILM INCENTIVES UPDATE:  This is gonna sound strange, well, hell these past 4 months have been beyond strange, but as long as HB1224 fails, film as we know it, is not dead.  Even if they adjourn sine die, our legislators can get called backed in and the dialogue continues and the film conversation can begin once again.  I know what you’re thinking, we are losing productions everyday this crap goes on.  True.  It drives me crazy, too.  But looking into the future, this is the best we got at the moment. Yesterday, the House didn’t pass 1224, but it could come back to the table today.

The General Assembly Schedule at the present moment is:

  • Rules Committee: 10am
  • House: 11am
  • Senate: 4pm

I know it’s a long exhausting fight, trust me! LOL.  But it is not over.

FilmPhotoREMINDER: Anyone who benefits from the NC Film Industry, please gather with us @ Battleship Park on Sat. August 23rd 2014@ 4:00pm.

They will be documenting the residents and families of Southeastern North Carolina with a massive group photograph of all those who will be affected by the loss of the Film Incentives.  Brownie Harris will be the fab photog. RSVP NOW

RATINGS: Sleepy Hollow Finale – Bad Blood Gets Good Numbers

Will the buzz bring  the bows from millions of viewers?  The media went crazy with nothing but gushing tweets and articles for Sleepy Hollow’s 2 hour Finale.

“Sleepy Hollow just threw down one of the best finales in recent TV history, bringing its epic freshman season to a totally satisfying and bats-it crazy end.”  ~Watch w/ Kristin, E! Online

Last week’s Vessel‘s ratings sailed in at a 2.2 in A18-49 with 6.4 million viewers.  Now let’s see what the old one-two punch brought us last night with Indispensable Man w/ Bad Blood on its heels!  The initial overnight numbers are in!

Sleepy Hollow ends its first season with a 2.3 A18-49.  That’s up 1/10th from last week!  It tied with The Blacklist (2.3)!

 ‏@GaudeP  “With a 2.3/6 in A18-49, last night’s #SleepyHollow season 1 finale was up +5% in the demo & up +6% in viewers (6.9 vs 6.5 mil)! #fistbump
“In its 9pm hour, the #SleepyHollow finale gained +9% (2.4 vs 2.2) vs last week among Adults 18-49.”

I will keep you posted as more comes in!

THE WILMYWOOD DAILY – 01/15/2014 Michael Cera/John Hawkes Coming to Wilmywood, Sleepy Hollow, and more!

michael-cera-john-hawkesGoood Morning!  Hope you are having a pleasant one!  Man, what a week for breaking Wilmywood news!!  Yesterday afternoon, we got word that FX is bringing us the pilot “How and Why.”  The production will be set up at EUE/Screen Gems Studios by this Spring.  Look for Michael Cera and John Hawkes around town in the next few months!  A lot of Wilmywood folks met John Hawkes when he was on Eastbound & Down last year and are VERY excited to have him back!

Charlie-KaufmanThey have been signed to star in this comedy pilot which is coming from Charlie Kaufman.  The pilot will focus on Goodman Hesselman (John Hawkes)  who is the host of a children’s science show called “How and Why.”  But he is one of those book smart kinda guys with no people skills what so ever!  He is forced to start over, move to a small town, doing a completely different TV show and working for a much younger boss (Michael Cera).  As Deadline puts it, “things get awry when Hesselman encounters elements of the supernatural world during this new excursion.”  Yep, sounds like the autobiography of every news anchor I know in Wilmywood.  Perfect fit FX!

Meanwhile, FX also announced yesterday our North Carolina boy Zach Galifinakis is also going to star in a new FX comedy series co-written by Louis CK.  Congrats Zach!

RobertdowneyJrDid you know that our beloved Iron Man, Robert Downey, Jr. can sing?  He was on stage at a Sting concert and he sung the classic, “Driven To Tears”  Listen to THIS!! Yep, that is RDJ singing!  Wow!  You go boy!

Now on with a little Sleepy Hollow fun.  The ratings stayed flat, no adjustments with a 2.2 /6 among A18-49 w/ 6.4 million viewers.  When they factor in the DVR numbers, it will sky rocket per usual. Here’s what’s in store for us this Monday night!

Oh yeah!  Can’t wait!  Now, if you missed my interview with Tom Mison yesterday:  CHECK IT OUT NOW!

SPOILER ALERT: During those short 4 minutes, Tom did give us some intel about Nick Gonzalez‘s character, Detective Luke Morales.  He will be back for season two.

VOTING ENDS TODAY for Encore Magazine’s Best Of 2014!! So, go on get to votin‘!!

Don’t forget these important categories!
  • Best Thing to Happen in ILM 2013:  Film/TV Production, Ziggy’s Opening, California Roots: Carolina Sessions.

SLEEPY HOLLOW RATINGS: How many viewers did the Golem Gobble?

Last night’s episode was the last new Sleepy Hollow to air before the new year,  but hey in return they did bring us the Monster of the Week!  Let’s find out if the numbers were just as deliciously monstrous.  The overnight numbers are in.  Last week, Sanctuary (Episode 9)  held on to 6.6 viewers after adjustments. This week, The Golem (Episode 10) numbers are a tick down from last week, averaging a 2.1 (A18-49) with 6.5 million viewers.  Not bad after taking a week off.  As always, we still need to see if the Sleepyheads will adjust up or down later in the day.

Joe Adalian – “ALMOST HUMAN hanging in there, up a tick to 1.8. But SLEEPY misses BONES: Last night’s ep down to a 2.1”
Gaude Paez Morose ‏–  “#SleepyHollow came back pretty steady in Adults 18-49 (2.1 vs 2.2) and Total Viewers (6.5 Mil vs 6.6 Mil) after a week off. #thegolem

The dots are connecting.  Let’s find out who was there to witness it.  The overnight numbers are in.  Last week, The Necromancer took  7 million viewers on a journey garnering a 2.5.  Sanctuary (Episode 9) along with other TV shows, felt the hustle and bustle of the start of the holiday season.  The 9th installment fell 3/10ths holding on to only  5.82 million viewers A18-49 with a 2.2 average.  As always, we still need to see if SH will adjust up or down later in the day.  Oh, tis the season ::::SIGH::::

RATINGS: The Plague Brings Devotion to Sleepy Hollow

Last week, The Lesser Key unlocked a 2.7 rating with 7.76M viewers for Sleepy Hollow, but it looks like the plague took over, bringing devoted fans rather than devastation. Well, keeping their fans.  Ichabod kept us laughing out loud with his “impenetrable barrier” issues with plastic and his fascination with scotch tape and loofahs, but of course, the suspense, drama and curiosity kept us glued to the TV .  This week, the initial numbers indicate they show held on to 7.5M live viewers this week, with a 2.6 rating.  Hollow is still #1 in its time slot.  Adjustments will come later today, and I am betting they will adjust up as they always do!

What do the experts say?

Gaude Paez Morose  –#SleepyHollow drew a 2.6/7 & 7.5 mil viewers. Fun fact: last night’s Sleepy was up +15% in Teens. Is Roanoke big w/ the kids these days?

Joe Adalian –  SLEEPY HOLLOW notched a 2.6 A18-49, beating CBS comedies and DWTS.

RATINGS: Sleepy Hollow and Under the Dome!!

Sleepy Hollow DECAPITATES the competition!

Don’t lose your head, but Sleepy Hollow was the No. 1 entertainment show on Monday in its time slot!!

Congrats to the cast and NC Film crew of BOTH Under the Dome and Sleepy Hollow!

SLEEPY HOLLOW went up to 3.5 rtg in Adults 18-49 (vs. 3.4/9 this morning) with 10.1 Mil Total Viewers (vs. 10.0 Mil this morning)  According to EW, That’s 127 percent better than last fall’s premiere for The Mob Doctor.  And once we get the seven days of DVR playback, the numbers are predicted to skyrocket!   Joe Adalian of vulture.com mentioned, “Fox shows *rarely* exceed 10M viewers. Or 8M.”  Very impressive folks!  He also said via twitter, “SLEEPY HOLLOW also debuted ahead of January’s THE FOLLOWING, which had a 3.1 A18-49 in fast nationals/3.2 in finals.”

Sara Bibel  (TVbythenumbers.com) said Sleepy Hollow was “the highest broadcast drama premiere since the debut of Revolution and FOX’s best drama premiere in six years, since the short-lived K-ville in 2007.”

Now on to our other fabulous show which ended with a solid BANG!  The season finale of Under the Dome garnered a big 2.8 adults 18-49 rating.  It captured 11.8 million viewers, its highest demo score since July 29!  Ratings were up 33 percent from last week’s 2.1.  That is one strong finish!
