Let’s kick off the blog with Kickstarter!  Some local folks have been working their tails off on a great inspirational street racing film called, Adrenaline.  You will see some familiar local faces like Michael Rosander, Mike Holmes, and then you see faces you know from TV.  John Schneider (Dukes of Hazard, Smallville) for instance.  65% of the movie has already been shot.  They will return to Wilmington and yes that includes the handsome John Schneider to shoot some more scenes, then head to Rockingham for the big race scenes.  They are looking for some finishing funds and they are asking us in the community for a ‘lil help!  So, that means I am asking you, too.  If everyone who reads this blog, throws in $5 or more, that would be amazing!  A lot of a little really adds up!  They have 27 days left to raise $45,000.  HELP NOW!

Wilmywood’s Film Peep of the Day!

Kim Stewart – Casting

Yay!  It’s Friday!  And a three-day weekend at that!  I would first like to give kudos to Kim, our Film Peep of the Day, and her choice in Wilmywear! Okay let’s go Under the Dome.  They are getting a very late start today, shooting at 4pm and going until early Saturday morning in Currie, NC.

tammy_wilmywoodThe Tammy cast and crew is filming on Wilmington St. and N Walker St. in Burgaw today.  A very funny scene.  Let’s just say there are cops involved!  They will also be be shooting on the road as well.  You will get a glimpse of Melissa McCarthy and Susan Sarandon.  Plus, our lovely, local and talented gal, Barbara Weetman, has a part in this scene!

Wilmington/Clinton hometown boy, Chris McCullen, is competing in the premiere episode of TNT’s 72 HOURS airing Thursday, June 6, at 9 pm (ET/PT) on TNT, throws Chris into icy blue waters of the Yasawa Islands in Fiji.  Chris was born in Clinton, NC, but spent most of his life in the Wilmington area. He moved to San Diego to pursue his dance dreams and since has created a style of dance that teaches people how to dance to electronic music.  Good Luck Chris!

72 Hours literally DROPS you into the wild as they release nine strangers in exotic locations with nothing but a bottle of water and a GPS tracking device. In teams of three, they have just 72 hours to navigate the wilderness against treacherous terrain in a race to be the first to find a hidden briefcase filled with the $100,000 Grand Prize!!

That just about does it for me; I will have more Wilmywood updates for you after the Memorial Day weekend or if breaking news comes in on Sunny 104.5.  Got Scoop?  Email me: sheila@1045sunnyfm.com.  Or message me on Wilmywood’s FB .  Until then, that’s a wrap!
