Wilmywood shot ‘The Squeeze’ gets a release date.

ARC Entertainment has acquired all North American rights to the golf caper, The Squeeze which was shot right here in Wilmywood in the fall of 2013.

The feature stars Christopher McDonald, Jeremy Sumpter, Jillian Murray and Michael Nouri, along with some of our local actors including Michael Rosander, David Andrews, and Logan Siu to name a few.

ARC Entertainment will be releasing The Squeeze on premium VOD and in select markets in 12 top markets in the U.S. on April 17, 2015 (Friday after The Masters).

The Squeeze is a true story about a young man from a small southern town who gets caught in between two notorious gamblers, until the stakes become a matter of life or death. The film has been submitted to the Toronto Film Festival in September.

According to a press release, Jack Nicklaus, Winner of 18 Major Golf Championship really enjoyed the movie.  “I watched THE SQUEEZE and really enjoyed it. It’s a fun movie that tells an interesting story, and the golf elements are so real you actually believe it could happen.”

The Squeeze was produced by Anne Archer, Terry Jastrow, Brian McCormack, Michael Doven, and George Parra and executive produced by Brian McCormack, Simon Horsman and Milton Kim.

‘The Squeeze’ to hit theaters Spring 2015

Writer/Producer/Director Terry Jastrow has just announced the completion of the Wilmywood shot feature film, The Squeeze. The golf caper which filmed here last fall stars Christopher McDonald, Jeremy Sumpter, Jillian Murray and Michael Nouri, along with some of our local actors including Michael Rosander, David Andrews, and Logan Siu to name a few.

The Squeeze is a true story about a young man from a small southern town who gets caught in between two notorious gamblers, until the stakes become a matter of life or death. The film has been submitted to the Toronto Film Festival in September.

According to a press release, Jastrow recently had its first industry private screening at United Talent Agency in Hollywood to an enthusiastic audience that included film distributors, cast and crew, Terry’s wife and co-producer, actress Anne Archer, and golfer Phil Mickelson.

“Making this movie is a dream come true,” says Jastrow. “For many years as a sports director working for the legendary Roone Arledge, I was schooled in the art of storytelling…’the thrill of victory, the agony of defeat, the human drama of athletic competition’…and am very pleased to apply those concepts now to movie making.”

Look for The Squeeze in theaters this Spring.

THE WILMYWOOD DAILY 10/07/2013 – Cast of the Squeeze, Sleepy Hollow, and More.

chrismcdonaldHappy Monday!  More info is coming out about The Squeeze. Let’s start with the rumored cast!  Some sources have told me Michael Nouri (Flashdance / The Proposal / The Terminal) is starring as well as Christopher McDonald (Shooter McGavin in Happy Gilmore) in this golf flick.  Now, I cannot confirm the cast yet, but I can confirm the reason for Anne Archer‘s visit to Wilmywood.  Not only is she here to support her husband of 35 years, writer/director/producer Terry Jastow, but she is also one of the producers as well.

Get ready for another sleepless night as Sleepy Hollow is on tonight!  9pm on FOX! In tonight’s episode, Ichabod helps Abbie search for her sister that has escaped from the psychiatric hospital.   I asked Chitra Elizabeth Sampath, one of the writers/story editors on Sleepy Hollow, what we can expect in tonight’s episode and Chitra said, “We’re gonna meet some pretty evil dudes who may or may not return.” Baaahahahaa!!!  Gee, thanks girl! Maybe we should just take a look at this sneak peek:

Weather permitting, the Sleepyheads will be shooting at Bellevue Cemetery, as well as on Princess Place Dr. adjacent to cemetery.  It will be a fun scene today as a chase ensues between good ‘ole Headless and one of the other characters on horseback.

tommisonOn a side note, congrats to Tom Mison (Ichabod Crane) who just won Best Supporting Actor in the British Romantic Comedy, Dead Cat, at the Southhampton International Film Festival.  (Thanks to @TomMisonFans for that info.)  Here’s the trailer:

werethemillersAlthough We’re The Millers is coming out on DVD/Blu-Ray November 19th, it is still making bank at the box office.  After this weekend, it is grossed 144.9M in the US, and almost 240M worldwide.

ANOTHER STAR SIGHTING IN WILMYWOOD

AnneArcher

The absolutely stunning Anne Archer who is most known for her incredible work in movies such as Fatal Attraction, Patriot Games, & Clear and Present Danger, was spotted downtown having lunch at The Basics with a large group of people.  After doing a little digging, Anne’s husband of 35 years is the Sports Producer and Emmy Award Winner, Terry Jastrow.  With Jastrow’s extensive golf knowledge and resume, one can speculate they are here for The Squeeze, the golf movie which opened up offices at Screen Gems today.

More info to come…
