Now looking into the NC filmmaker’s future. Let’s take a look at 2015.  Where do we stand?  How many positions can be filled?

Sleepy Hollow will be wrapping by the end of January.

Under the Dome will begin prepping for season 3 in late Jan/Early Feb.

That’s all we got right now. Less than 1000 jobs for 4200+ film workers. So until we get North Carolina back in business )and we will), let’s expand into other states and see what is close by and worth looking into.

Elon Poll iconKeep spreading the word about early voting!  The Elon Poll came out this morning and here’s a few fun facts!

Hagan holds a steady lead over Tillis with Election Day just days away.

Hagan has solidified a 45-41 margin against Rep. Thom Tillis, the speaker of NC House, since the Elon University Poll found the same numbers in early September. Another 6 percent of likely voters plan to support another candidate, while 7 percent remain undecided.

Locally, support for North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory is eroding among likely voters. 37% of likely voters approve of his job performance, down 6 percentage points since last month. 15% didn’t know how they felt about the governor.

DeathBedDeath Bed: The Play That Bites
October 23- 31
8pm Thurs-Sat, 3pm Sun October 23-26, 8pm Wed-Fri October 29-31
Written by Gwenyfar Rohler, Directed by Steve Vernon

The old story of a man, a dream & a struggle to the death with killer furniture. The lost 70’s cult classic is coming to the stage, live in 3-D this fall!

In 1973 George Barry wrote, directed, and produced Death Bed: The Bed That Eats.  It would not be officially released until 2003 (then on DVD) but would go on to become a cult classic through a pirated edition in Europe.

Wilmington’s own inventor Jock Brandis worked on Death Bed as a Gaffer and made The Bed actually “eat.” Patton Oswalt made the rediscovered film famous through his material lamenting that someone put money into Death Bed but he can’t get his work made. Jock is actually the guy Oswalt is making fun of for making The Bed.

Gwenyfar has adapted the film to the stage and added a “making of” element to Act One.  GET MORE DETAILS

BOLDEN: Marty Siu Casting is working with Fincannon & Associates with the extras casting for BOLDEN, scheduled to film here late this fall. AFRICAN-AMERICANS are hugely needed for this project later this year.  So, spread the details to all your AA friends.  Here’s the scoop:

Scene details will come later, but for now, we are seeking African American background actors, ages 18 +, with no tattoos, no piercings (small ear piercings are okay, but no gauges) and no hair highlights, who are local to the Wilmington, N.C. area. These are for flashback scenes from the 1890s – 1930s, so we need as natural looking people as possible, to portray that time period.

If you’d like to work in this movie, please follow these steps. Instructions for submitting:

#1. Create an account on www.makescenes.com, using the authorization code, “buddy”. Make sure your picture uploads. If you have trouble, resize your photo to a smaller size, and try again.

#2. Watch Marty’s Casting Facebook page for updates.

THE WILMYWOOD DAILY – 10/15/2014 Sleepy Hollow deets, Crew and Cast for Paper Towns and more.

Now where is everyone today? They are taking cover! A rainy day has put Secrets & Lies as well as Sleepy Hollow at the sound stages. Sleepy might head back to Water St. to shoot the plummeting hail scene, weather permitting tonight.

Now for some more Sleepy Hollow deets.  Please welcome the new Executive Producer  to Wilmywood, Paul Edwards.   Also, Sleepy Hollow has a new line producer as well, so welcome Jane Bartelme. Jane has a long history in the feature film world and lemme tell ya, what a resume!  From Sleepless in Seattle to Legends of the Fall.

They are currently shooting episode 11 with Dwight Little in the director’s chair.  Russell Fine, who will be directing episode 12 is gearing up and scouting the area this week.  Welcome all to the Sleepy family!

The Choice is doing some interior shots on Princess St.  Sorry Tom Welling fans, no sightings today.  At least not on set.  Maybe you will spot him somewhere around town on his day off 🙂tscc3

Paper Towns is still crewing up in Charlotte, NC. Congrats to Leigh Shanta. She is back once again in NC as PM. She was here in Wilmywood for The Longest Ride. I know they are still looking for PAs in just about every department. As for other positions, I don’t have the full list yet of what is needed. Paper Towns is expected to begin production in November.

So, send your crew resume to papertownsproduction@gmail.com with your position in the subject line.

And in case you didn’t know, the fabulous, Tona Dahlquist is heading up extras casting 🙂

They have also added to the cast. Last month, we reported that Nat Wolff and Cara Delevingne are starring in the film. Now, they have added Austin Abrams, Halston Sage and Justice Smith to the cast. Congrats!
