EUE/Screen Gems tours wrap this weekend!

EUE/Screen Gems will wrap seasonal tours on Saturday and Sunday,  Aug. 15 and 16, 2015. Tours are wrapping because “Under The Dome” (CBS) is breaking down sets that will not be used in future seasons.

Visitors who come for these last summer tours will experience a visual history of the North Carolina film and television industry in the screening theater where many famous producers, directors and actors have reviewed footage of productions shot at the studio. Posters and memorabilia from previous productions that have shot on the lot will be in the Commissary building where guests purchase tickets. Guests are allowed to use cameras in this waiting area only; cameras and photography are not allowed on the rest of the tour.

The last Summer 2015 tours will be hosted on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 15 and 16 at 10 am, 12 noon and 2 pm, weather permitting. Guests should check the tour hotline before traveling for the latest tour updates. Tours can be canceled or delayed at the last minute due to weather changes. Guests should arrive at the studios at least 30 minutes ahead of time to purchase tickets.

Cost: $12 for adults

$10 for students

$10 for seniors (age 65 and over) and military personnel with an ID

$5 for children, ages 5 to 12; children under 5 are free

Admission is cash only; memorabilia is also for sale. No credit cards accepted at this time.

WUIW_longUnder the Dome is running two units again today.  They will be at the sound stages, Trask Lake as well as “Lyle’s Barbershop” on Castle St.Yesterday, Sleepy Hollow put out their first casting call of the season.  They are gonna need 50 guys to start off with for season 2.  GET DEETS NOWThe Heart is looking at temporary financing troubles. Indian Paintbrush, the current financier of the film is rethinking the budget which is just a little too rich for their blood.  The film has an estimated budget of $18.5 million. Given information is stating that if the budget could reduce to $13 million that financing may not prove as hard to do. The Heart team has until next Friday (May 2) to either lower the budget or find another financier. Indian Paintbrush has not pulled out of the project, but is looking for other fiscal options to make this movie happen.  The Heart was scheduled to begin production in North Carolina in June of 2014.  We will keep you posted as more details come. EUE/Screen Gems Begins Tours of Wilmington, NC Studios on April 26, 2014

 Wilmington, NC (April 22, 2014) EUE/Screen Gems Studios in Wilmington announced today that tours resume at its production complex beginning this Saturday, April 26.

Guests will get an insider’s look at the largest studio complex East of California and experience the rich history of EUE/Screen Gems and the films and television shows produced at the facility over the last three decades. Attendees will walk the 10-stage working lot have access to sounds stages and go behind the scenes of the CBS series “Under the Dome.” Guests will see a visual history of the North Carolina film and television industry in the screening theater where many famous producers, directors and actors have reviewed footage of productions shot at the studio.

Tours will be hosted on Saturdays and Sundays at 10 am, 12 noon and 2 pm weather permitting throughout the summer. Tours will continue throughout 2014 and beyond. Please check the tour hotline to confirm times throughout the fall and winter.

EUE/Screen Gems Tour Director Pam Stilwell advises wearing comfortable shoes and bringing rain gear if there’s a chance of showers. “We are indoors and out, and on our feet for an hour—all over this production complex—so we want to make sure our guests have a great experience, rain or shine,” she says. The tour lasts an hour.

Stilwell and her team of tour guides expects to host 1000 guests in May. “We’ve already received word that we’ll be hosting visiting journalists from Canada and the United States early next month. We are quite proud of the attachment fans have for this facility and its production history,” she says.

EUE/Screen Gems Studios hosted tours of the studios for 15 years and concluded them in the fall of 2011 when the CW series “One Tree Hill” wrapped production. The tours have consistently attracted film and television fans from across the United States and around the world.

Susan Dosier, public relations counsel for EUE/Screen Gems Studios, made the announcement over the weekend, Sleepy Hollow will stay at its home sweet home for season 2.

“20th Century Fox Television officially notified EUE/Screen Gems that the second season of ‘Sleepy Hollow’ will be shot at the studio in Wilmington, NC. The first season wraps production this month. Second season production will begin after a yet-to-be-determined hiatus.”

As we wait and wonder how it will all end for season one, the network will wrap up with some double time action! A two-hour finale, that is.  It all happens – Monday, Jan. 20 from 8-10 p.m.
